Speaking to the surgery manager last week had been a bit of a disaster with lots of no shows she put down to the bad safety press AZ was getting. I wish these loud mouth EU politicians would just shut up they are scaring people with no valid medical justification. Hopefully the tide has turned. One more point

I just finished the morning shift a a local surgery as a volunteer doing the AZ vaccine.

I am pleased to say that only 5 people were no shows. Speaking to the surgery manager last week had been a bit of a disaster with lots of no shows she put down to the bad safety press AZ was getting.

I wish these loud mouth EU politicians would just shut up they are scaring people with no valid medical justification.

Hopefully the tide has turned.

Fantastic, very community minded. I'm relieved that despite the negative publicity most people are still turning up, even if the numbers did take a hit at the height of the bad press and unhelpful EU interjections. Let's hope the positive coverage today results in some of those who didn't show, booking again. It would seem to be the sensible thing to do.

I was working at the mass vaccine centre today we had 1300 appointments unfortunately around 100 couldn't be bothered to turn up. This seems to be par for the course and is quite disgraceful.

What made it even more annoying was that most of the missed appointments were late in the day we had to assume they were coming until they didn't so we had vaccine left over.

Unfortunately we were also told we are closed for April due to the vaccine shortages, quite annoying as we had just hit our stride and like I said we were doing 1300 a day.

Take your pick as to whose at fault the EU or India.

Very frustrating for you - how about adding Johnson to the list of whose fault it is, he promised vaccines were the way to get our freedom back and continually moves the goalposts so understandably younger people start to think what is the point of getting a vaccine..

That's disheartening as there will be million who would've gratefully received those wasted vaccines. We of course see that people have some ill advised takes on the vaccine - that's for them - but if someone actually books an appointment, it shouldn't be too much to ask that they actually commit to turning up to have it. Had my AZ at Fairfield yesterday around 5.15 and I asked if they could squeeze my Mrs in with no appointment and they said they had no spares.Although there was no queues out the door or anything but a great service they are doing there. Edited by imashed (26 Mar 2021 7.57pm)
