Can you explain the science of how we are supposed to stop the virus given that we don’t know whether protecting yourself with the vaccine prevents it being carried or transmitted?

We do not know if it might become like say the cold sore virus, something that never goes away and just lurks in the background.

Protecting the vulnerable is not all about other people taking the vaccine, it’s about staying away unless you need to spend time with them. It’s a cruel harsh fact but until they can show that not getting ill with it stops transmission those who are immune compromised are stuck with social distancing as the only line of defence.

The only time we will really know if the vaccine stops the transmitting and spreading is when they have vaccinated enough people and the numbers go down.

My issue is anyone thinking immunosuppressed or compromised people are safer because others have taken the vaccine whilst we still don’t know if they can be carriers once vaccinated.

It may be those that are vaccinated feel they can return to normal around these people when in fact they should not. This could cause social problems for some time to come.

It’s concerning that it’s rising, not the figures I’m hearing. They will go down. I saw some stats that it has started to. Can’t really say it’s down to the lockdown or not. It’s borderline whether it is or not. The Christmas meet ups ended too so who can tell?

I’ve seen more evidence we probably couldn’t do a Sweden because of the varying levels of intelligence and common sense in the country. There really are some stupid people in all age categories. Now these people probably don’t immediately sound stupid but I saw a reasonably overweight chap on a ventilator and there was mention of him having a big family and being a grandfather and being weeks away from getting a vaccine and something I posted on Christmas Day. You can work the rest out.

I had a short listen to Talkradio this afternoon and there was a female GP doctor on talking some absolute codswallop I’d swear she was another left wing activist. The best bit was talking about how the government had messed everything up every step of the way when really it’s different times different people criticise them. She went onto talk about her patients being confused with the tiers and going ahead with Christmas. One couple caught covid, I think one of both are in hospital after she saw them and they said ‘’We thought it would be alright’’. She would’ve heard that from her patients thousands of times over after they’ve knowingly damaged their health but took the chance. This is an opportunity for some NHS staff to politicise this and bash the government.

I wish I had a direct line to Talkradio to tear her radio appearance to pieces but I was too busy doing what I wanted to do even if I was bothered enough.

We really have a problem of stupid, thick, ignorant, oblivious and selfish citizens that we also find we have to ruin ourselves to help and guide them.

I wondered if we might hear on MSM from someone or their family after they had their Christmas gathering and someone died. Maybe not for reasons of family regret but you usually get some who will. It might make some sit up and realise they don’t need to see whoever weeks before their vaccine.

Nice to see that Selhurst Park has been offered as a vaccination centre. The logistics of the implementation of vaccinating the population is a challenge,as who wants to go near a hospital at this time.
1 in 30 in London are supposed to be infected and some idiots are still prepared to risk their health by carrying on as normal.

Nearly everyone one in my block of flats in Beckenham over 80 have had the first jab and some the 2nd.

One person who is 90 has heard nothing so she seems to have slipped through the net. It maybe a coincidence but her surgery is a rambling old Victorian house upstairs and through corridors etc, not suitable for mass vaccinations.

Beckenham Beacon (Old Beckenham hospital) seems to be the major place to get inoculated.

My mother in laws surgery is a similar building in Horsham. They are using a larger more modern surgery nearby as a centre. Maybe we are lucky to have the choice
