Yeah I've heard Collymore in conversation with Wright on a podcast talking about how, socially speaking, Collymore was a real fish out of water at Palace at the time.

It's easy to see Collymore leaving when he could have taken over from Wright as a sliding doors moment (whatever that means, never actually seen the film), but he probably needed to be a bigger fish at a smaller club to develop his confidence as much as his ability, and probably neither would have happened at Palace.

If Coppell and Smith didn't think much of him at that stage, that'll do for me.

As I recall Stan was constantly on our bench, and regularly came on during the Wright/Bright era. However in our esteemed wisdom, we did not want to pay an instalment to Stafford Rangers based on his appearances so we decided to sell him to Southend. Wrighty went and we replaced him with Marco Gabbiadini! As I recall Stan was constantly on our bench, and regularly came on during the Wright/Bright era. Back to the original question, I'm really interested who we let go who went on to do really well. At the top end of the scale clearly Ian Wright and Kenny Samson went on to do great things. Long time ago I remember Birchenall left us to do a good few years in the top division with Leicester.(random) But really, struggling to think of any more youngsters, than those already posted, that we let go who have turned up in the top flight.

Back to the original question, I'm really interested who we let go who went on to do really well.

At the top end of the scale clearly Ian Wright and Kenny Samson went on to do great things.

Long time ago I remember Birchenall left us to do a good few years in the top division with Leicester.(random)

But really, struggling to think of any more youngsters, than those already posted, that we let go who have turned up in the top flight.
