when the Algerians want to do business with Chinese, japanese or any Americans...from patagonia to the Arctic circle....English works best.

The variability of Arabic is enormous...every arab country has a dialect that the other countries struggle to follow.

They have just sent 140 university staff to learn English. They are going to start teaching in English rather than French. French has been used in education and government but will be phased out.
I presumed they had Arabic and French as official languages, a bit like Ireland having Irish and English, but it looks like Arabic is the language of the people, French the language of government and business. I guess they have reasons to dislike France, but I thought it interesting that they're changing to English.
I will say that linguistically, the languages are pretty similar - although speakers of both like to overstate the differences.

there are huge connections between the populations of france and algeria. Family ties, immigration/emigration etc etc.

but i guess English is wealth & modernity. French is spoken now in some of the poorest countries on Earth.

It would be hilarious if other Francophone countries followed the lead of Algeria. The imperialist arrogant French would be furious.

Perhaps you would like to explain the difference in rules over what was expected to happen and what has happened and whether that might reasonably have been anticipated.

If I thought my business was going to be badly affected I would have been searching for new markets and diversification and not just hoping everything would be ok.

I won’t give you the businesses as that would be unfair on the owners but I’ll give you the sectors. Telecoms, building and hi-tec engineering.

There is only so much a business can do to prepare - there were so many unknowns right up until the last minute and a lot of the systems put in place do not work.

Even if you are as prepared as possible are you aware of how delicate so many supply chains are and how many rely on a just in time basis? Even the smallest delay or friction can destroy at one point in the process can destroy an entire chain.

Ok so what did your mates in telecom, building and hi-tec engineering say to you were going to be the exciting upsides of Brexit?

I wonder how long it will take for the i voted for Brexit voters to change their minds. Denying their culpability and start complaining.

We've left and the s*** is about to hit the fan big style .

When 200 fags and a litre of booze is all you can bring in just remember it was your xenophobic ideology that brought us here . To think that my children have been denied the freedom of travel and work within the EU because my fellow citizens are racist bigots hurts me.

If there was a way to buy a future for my children I would pay it gladly but if there were a loophole the racist pricks who got us to where we are would have got their first.

If you voted for Brexit do the rest of us a favour and kill yourselves you racist motherf***ers

I believe many voted Brexit in the hope of being able to make better decisions rather than for racist reasons

But there is a certain car crash inevitability about how that largely won’t play out in practice. We weren’t prepared, have no clear policies, are run by posh children and pander to their school chums.

That is so sweet. I am quite touched.

Apart from your kids’ travel plans how much booze and how many fags equal the deaths of 17.4 m people?

You should be ashambed of yourself maple, have some respect for the "posh" kids, they are better than us and work hard, the Eton boys are the reason we are the world leaders in vacine rollout(or nearly, world leaders in covid deaths per 100k, or nearly-third worst yesterday- and reason we have lots of brexit cash sloshing around in our pockets- just nowhere to spend it all!). Hve more respect for the Eton elite, they care about the working classes, (especially those northern miners), will look after them- just trust in them maple, your ilk make me wonder- do you REALLY feel you are as good as the posh kids? K now your role in this world man, accept it, don"t cross the line!
