Even the most die-hard tory will admit that the banks won after the financial crash. Things like brexit may require a sleight of hand, but the juggernaut powers on. And they contribute little or nothing.

I'm neither a fan of banks nor a die hard Tory, but I do feel that banks in this country contribute quite a bit if you're one of the tens of thousands that work for one (which I don't).
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

"Universal credit claimants face tough sanctions in UK job crackdown" The usual suspects are moaning about this, personally I don't see an issue. The job of the taxpayer is to support the unemployed until they can find a job, its not to keep supporting them until they find their dream job. Their are 1.2m vacancies if that means working in the hospitality sector until your dream job comes along so be it. Edited by Badger11 (27 Jan 2022 9.18am)

Regarding Universal Credit that was the Guardian comment's perhaps the BBC is more accurate "Universal Credit: Jobseekers must widen job search more quickly"
