In fact the exact opposite of the EU "break up" that you (and many others on here) so desperately want in your vindictive fantasies. A club is unhappy with a member, so it starts taking action against that member. That's sign of a very strong club to me, rather than letting a deluded member poison the others. Sorry to disappoint you with some reality.

I don't think all Leavers do think the EU will break up I don't.

Surprisingly I find myself in agreement with Wisbech Eagle we both believe that at some point the EU will reform and become more flexible in certain areas.

If you like an inner and outer circle, now depending on what the outer circle is the UK may rejoin. Personally I am not in favour of that but I could see it happening if the outer group was more of a trade bloc.

Hungry finds itself on the naughty step because the EU doesn't like some of its LGBT policies how long before they and Poland decide they don't need lecturing about internal political matters.

How long before Germany and France tire of bailing out the Mediterranean countries?

I always felt the big weakness of the EU was a one size fits all policy it would have been better to have had an inner group of countries (northern Europe) happy to co-mingle their sovereignty and fiscally strong. The others could enjoy the trade benefits but not get dragged into the politics until they were ready to move into the inner circle.

What annoys me at the moment is the EU's very bad attitude to the UK if they want us to rejoin one day they are going about it in the wrong way.

There are obstacles but these can all be solved fairly quickly if the EU agreed to a preferred trader exemption which would allow the big companies / supermarkets free trade access on condition they did not import non EU stuff through the back door.

This the epitamy of how it is. I also have an agreement with wissie in that the big picture of the EU as an idea is spot on. The problem is different countries have different needs and wants.
There has to be blue sky thinking from both directions. If a rule is good for one country it might not be for another. Having the ability to cherry pick is all that Cameron wanted. It is the same for us as individuals. We choose what we want to do,have, agree with. Sadly the EU wants to direct people to what they need, want, agree with. Humans are all different and scale that up its a country.
The government of each must do what's best for the majority. Not the loudest.

I gather that just one company, JCB, is the processor of meat globally.

JBS originated in Brazil. Tyson foods is currently a little bigger. After that comes Cargill which owns Avara in the UK.

Processors buy almost exclusively on price. The DoT is in the process of opening Pandora’s Box.

Reality??

You persist with the belief your opinions are reality and fact for all.

In your world yes of course, but not in others.

How's the Pro China thing going?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

You are really quite confused about things in my opinion.

But I believe you are entitled your opinion, and you believe I am entitled to your opinion.

Good to see you have no issues with any Chinese policies about for example prison labour or what might be happening with minorities in the West.

I am sure you unique skill set is fondly missed in China.

You are to the politics forum what Dazza is to the manager prediction thread.

There are very good vets in the Himalayas

If you can tell me where the meat comes from in your pub shepherd’s pie you may have a point

Most meat disappears into processors. I defy you to reveal into which products. The public can’t directly affect this market. That is the stupidity of Useless Eustace

I know it's the express but the story is still worth reading.

According to this the EU has just made it harder to identify the origin of prepared food.

My beef (geddit) is as a consumer I want to know where my food comes from after that it is consumers choice. Well staying in the EU wouldn't have helped. Maybe Greenpeace and XR can get to work on our government for proper labelling.

Vindictive ( why would I want revenge?) fantasies ffs give it a rest. This from someone who has been repeatedly nasty in his description of leavers.

Good grief man, you post that? It is drivel.

French legislation requiring that food containing dairy label which country the milk originated from is in line with EU regulations, the European Court of Justice ruled in a case between the French government and multinational dairy corporation Lactalis.

[Link]

However, the French Council of State just nullified the COOL law relating to milk as it considered it excessive and a law brought in solely to favour Lactalis.

The meat law remains in place does it not?

Please don’t post nonsense, it is unhelpful.

Ffs?? No I will not 'give it a rest'when you and some others here are regularly rude and insulting about certain other European cultures such the French and Germans, which in itself just smacks of jealousy. It's pathetic and will be pointed out as and when I see fit.
