Rubbish. It wasn't 6 good chances. And there's more to being a striker the scoring goals. The team performs better when he's in it. Period.

Christian Benteke's Crystal Palace future is uncertain. He's been out of form in the Premier League and out of favour under Roy Hodgson. As a result, the 29-year-old may be out of time at Selhurst Park. Benteke was Palace's record-signing and highest-earner after joining from Liverpool in 2016.5 Jan 2020

Benteke annual salary is worth more than he is valued at. Why on earth did we renew his contract at £120k /week???
Why not offer him £50 k a week to stay on next season?

At £50 k per week he would still be overpaid.

If I were as bad at my job as he is at his, I'd be sacked.

Should he join BFS, the goals he will score will no doubt keep them up,but at whose expense???

Allardyce got the best out of him because we put some crosses in plus he played Townsend on his natural left side so he could cross earlier without checking inside. His goal in a 2-0 win at Bournemouth summed this up perfectly

Absolutely not, he may be terrible for us but letting him go January to a lower half of the prem rival, can’t see if happening. Even if we save on a couple of mill wages not worth the risk.

They can have him in the Championship next season

I have seen him getting on the end of plenty of crosses and still misses , even when the goal is gaping . If he tried to throw his hat on the floor he would still miss .

Me too. I think it is a bit of a myth that if you give him the service he will score. I have witnessed plenty of chances coming his way only for him to misfire, including with his head.

As I said elsewhere he doesn't seem to have the fire, aggression and hunger that all good strikers have.

If that is the case, perhaps best to move him on to an eagerly awaiting BFS.

Would be absolutely magic to offload Benteke. I cant understand how anyone can make a case for keeping him. He's a striker yet he doesn't score goals for us and never will. I have everything crossed that we can move past this sorry episode and bad investment.
