The right attack child grooming to expose it.

You attack those pointing it out by using deflection.

You regularly accuse your political opponents of the very behaviour you exhibit.

If that was all the right did nobody at all would object. Certainly not me.

They don't do that.

Sex education is not grooming. Teaching diversity is not grooming. Preparing children for a modern world that you feel uncomfortable in is not grooming.

The right in the USA are on a campaign to reverse the way society has developed and are using the grooming word to taint those they are targeting because they know how powerful an image it creates.

Here the right use the scourge of the child grooming gangs to promote a wider anti-Muslim agenda. An agenda which creates both division and hostility. Ridding society of such evil is the wish of us all, but done in a way which doesn't make other problems worse.

Same answer. I am not qualified to judge. We are not all experts on everything. That's why we have child phycologists, and other specialists, advising those who create the curriculums, which reflect the society that the children are going to live in.

Back when I had kids that society was markedly different to today's.

This is what I've been attacking and every right minded person should.

This is why I and others have been attacked with deflections and insults by those who wish to find reasons for attacking those who point out the abuse of children.

I recommend that you do not click on the link if you are sensitive or easily shocked over what's being normalised here.

It's easy to attack that! It's tasteless. Whether long term harmful is questionable but others are better able to judge that then me and, I suspect, anyone else posting here.

It's not though all that's being attacked, certainly in the USA these days, which is what this thread is about.

Using such events as the justification for the "don't say gay" movement is pure diversion.

I think I'll put on 'The Good Life' from the early eighties and look at normal people again.

A sudden shaft of the light of truth.

It's you stuck in an 80s time warp that's behind your attitude!

I am glad that you finally recognise it.

What was normal for Tom, Barbara, Jerry, Margot and Stirling in the 80s isn't in 2022. Time moves on. So must we.

Why do we have to accept whatever happens and move on? Why can’t we resist change that we don’t find acceptable? Perhaps some of us have moral standards which we wish to keep and protect those that don’t know how to protect themselves.

Yep, the old 'times are a changing' rhetoric is always very convenient for those who support the winds. I wonder if the same mentality/mantra was applicable in mid-30's Bavaria?

You don't. It's extremely unlikely though that you will be able to reverse the tide so I question whether deciding that your morals are superior, and then insisting that you "protect" others from those you don't approve of, is actually wise.

In my opinion everyone needs to find their own way, and to do that need to at least be aware of all the arguments.

Our children and grandchildren will have to live in a different world to us, hopefully for much longer than us. They need to be able to adjust to change much more readily than us. The inflexibility of our generations being all too evident in this thread. Many of these things feel as alien to me as to everyone else but I am glad that there are some with the foresight to disregard my own prejudices.

I do wonder at what point you would resist the change mechanism that you seem to be so fond of. Just because things change doesn't make the situation better (for either the individual or society as a whole). Was moving from taking back the empty glass Corona bottles to the shop that you bought them from and replacing them with non-recylable plastic ones that float in the ocean, a good idea?

I bet you didn't think that at the time!

Of course we can all sometimes be wise after the event, or go too far and need to walk things back. Progress never a single straight line. Many mistakes and false starts are made along the way.

However, when things have changed it's foolish to ignore them and not adjust what else you do. Inclusion and diversity will not be going back in the bottle so we need to prepare the youngsters for that world and not pretend it's not there.

I have very genuine concerns with such statements.

I worked within a 'D&I' team upon it's emergence where it's core values of acknowledging the racial, cultural, physical capabilities, socio-economic and other 'diversities' within workforces (equally applicable to society) were fought so as not to alienate or indeed persecute each group and ensure 'inclusivity' paved the way for each and every individual being afforded equitable opportunity, value and treatment. That was the purpose at it's heart.

That moniker has been tarnished and I dare suggest hijacked now and subjecting children, and those who have no interest, to nonsense, especially that which is harmful, is now deemed within that bracket too as has been demonstrated. We have a world with plenty of violent, degenerate, self-serving, ideologically driven people - you can include nonces, drug taking enthusiasts, criminals, racists and anarchists in that bracket. That is not the purpose of D&I. It is based in the old principle of you being allowed to exist and do whatever you please, so long as it does not infringe on the freedom of others, without facing persecution for your exercising of said freedom.

Children, or anyone who wishes to be, must be free from sexualisation and receive healthy guidance including tolerance for others. Hijacking anyone's, especially children's, formal or informal education to tailor it to any dogmas or beliefs should be persecuted. You can't b******ise and conflate freedom and inclusivity with anarchy and the promotion of your own selfish will/worldview. You cannot claim persecution as an infringement of your freedom whilst infringing on others'.

Exposing children to adults operating within a sexual environment should be worthy of hanging as children should not be sexualised. There is a difference between allowing people to make their own choices when they are capable of doing so, and being free in that process, to subjecting children to things which are inappropriate whilst claiming it to be in the same vain. Why this grey has been allowed to come to life and is not seen by others is absolutely bonkers to me.

I genuinely fear one day historians will look back on all this and say 'this started off as x.... however quickly went downhill as the sentiment and movement was hijacked by lunatics who were endorsed and joined by halfwits and failures'. I say fear, any such remark would suggest that some common sense had been reestablished.

Finally, I do wonder at what stage the likes of Russia will look back on their one party, autocratic, communist rule and say 'Ah, we should have walked this back, it went too far'. One might of hoped Stalin's purges would inspire that however Putin still seems to have a firm grip on that now pariah state. F**king nonsense abound really is.

Actually I did enjoy returning the glass Corona bottle for a refund as it enabled me to have the excuse of buying another (which doubtless pleased the shopkeeper too). Also used to take my own bags to the shops to purchase groceries. But that too got replaced with the progress of throw away plastic bags. Still that genie has been put back in the bottle so I do not see why the ‘progress’ of sexualising children can’t be put back too…

All I asked was what would be acceptable to your kids. Mine would probably be around 13 as by then they really should have half an idea about bees and birds etc. then wonder why some geezer is dressed like a tart at a prom.
