Same answer. I am not qualified to judge. We are not all experts on everything. That's why we have child phycologists, and other specialists, advising those who create the curriculums, which reflect the society that the children are going to live in.

Back when I had kids that society was markedly different to today's.

So we elect MPs to make decisions for us and we have specialists and experts to decide everything else.
Change is inevitable and it's our role to accept it.
Everything we do in the present is only preparation for the future.
Our job is to pay our taxes and know our place.
It's all very Orwellian.

More madness, but totally expected If this 'guy' so desperately want's to be a woman then (& it's only my opinion) surely part of his sentence should be a fast track to surgery (forced/drugged if necessary) to achieve it.

We don't need specialists and experts for those things we are competent to handle ourselves. Most of us have some special skills and there are many other things we are all pretty good at. Too many to mention. There are others where delegation to knowledge and experience not only makes sense but is in our collective best interests.

We should always enjoy the moment! It's actually the only thing we truly have. We do though treasure both our memories and hopes for the future. We can only learn from the former but we can shape the latter by taking good decisions.

So our "job" is not to pay taxes and know our place. It's to take good decisions, both on who we choose to represent us, which experts we listen to, how we behave and especially on how we treat others.

But we don't have any say as to which experts our elected representatives choose to listen.

I have very genuine concerns with such statements.

I worked within a 'D&I' team upon it's emergence where it's core values of acknowledging the racial, cultural, physical capabilities, socio-economic and other 'diversities' within workforces (equally applicable to society) were fought so as not to alienate or indeed persecute each group and ensure 'inclusivity' paved the way for each and every individual being afforded equitable opportunity, value and treatment. That was the purpose at it's heart.

That moniker has been tarnished and I dare suggest hijacked now and subjecting children, and those who have no interest, to nonsense, especially that which is harmful, is now deemed within that bracket too as has been demonstrated. We have a world with plenty of violent, degenerate, self-serving, ideologically driven people - you can include nonces, drug taking enthusiasts, criminals, racists and anarchists in that bracket. That is not the purpose of D&I. It is based in the old principle of you being allowed to exist and do whatever you please, so long as it does not infringe on the freedom of others, without facing persecution for your exercising of said freedom.

Children, or anyone who wishes to be, must be free from sexualisation and receive healthy guidance including tolerance for others. Hijacking anyone's, especially children's, formal or informal education to tailor it to any dogmas or beliefs should be persecuted. You can't b******ise and conflate freedom and inclusivity with anarchy and the promotion of your own selfish will/worldview. You cannot claim persecution as an infringement of your freedom whilst infringing on others'.

Exposing children to adults operating within a sexual environment should be worthy of hanging as children should not be sexualised. There is a difference between allowing people to make their own choices when they are capable of doing so, and being free in that process, to subjecting children to things which are inappropriate whilst claiming it to be in the same vain. Why this grey has been allowed to come to life and is not seen by others is absolutely bonkers to me.

I genuinely fear one day historians will look back on all this and say 'this started off as x.... however quickly went downhill as the sentiment and movement was hijacked by lunatics who were endorsed and joined by halfwits and failures'. I say fear, any such remark would suggest that some common sense had been reestablished.

Finally, I do wonder at what stage the likes of Russia will look back on their one party, autocratic, communist rule and say 'Ah, we should have walked this back, it went too far'. One might of hoped Stalin's purges would inspire that however Putin still seems to have a firm grip on that now pariah state. F**king nonsense abound really is.

As always you make a passionate and well reasoned argument, much of which is impossible to disagree with, whilst some is a little OTT!

There is often an over reaction when change first occurs, and then settles down and I think that's what has happened in this area. I completely disagree with any kind of positive discrimination. I want to see all discrimination fade away through greater awareness.

Of course I am as opposed to the sexualisation of children as you. I do though believe in ensuring they are taught appropriately at the appropriate time. That might seem like a cop out, but what is appropriate isn't within my area of competence.

What will be the future for Russia post Putin? Who knows, but it doesn't look to be good. What is the future for democracy in the internet age? An age in which truth is whatever people want it to be. Sometimes I am glad I am 78!

It looks as though the slow and laborious march of due process is beginning to sweep up some of those more influential in the organisation of the Jan 6th attack on democracy. Up to now it has been just the foot soldiers. Those unfortunates swept up and consumed by the Big Lie.

I also found this article well reasoned and thought provoking. It's badly edited but makes some good points.

Is the waiting time for Trump nearly over, or do we still need patience? Will his mob boss tactics of how to evade responsibility work? We'll see.

Whether or not members of the Oath Keepers are guilty of anything is unknown to me.

However, I have to highlight the huge simply breathtaking hypocrisy here. Antifa literally rioted along with BLM for 18 months, destroying businesses, taking over actual areas of cities, there was violence, intimidation and people lost their lives.

What did the Democrats do about it? They treated these people as their foot soldiers. When they were arrested for damaging business their rich supporters paid their costs and Democrat prosecutors refused to prosecute them and released them back onto the streets.

Sedition? Antifa have made it plain that they hate America and want it broken up, they don't even hide that.

What I suspect what is happening is political persecution. Biden's administration hurts its enemies and locks them up and it rewards its supporters. The GOP on the other hand play nice and Trump did nothing like that during his 4 years, he didn't even call in the national guard while cities burned as he knew the Democrats would use it politically.

If the Republicans get in 2024 (if they can sort out the fraud of mail in ballots, social media collusion and voter harvesting) I suspect that everything will change on that score.

For many years now I have been predicting the break up of the US, and I was ridiculed for it, but as time goes on I think more and more also see this as inevitable.

Musk tweeted on the 28th:

'The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened.'

This might be popcorn worthy.

Seeing as Musk is now at war with Apple, here is PJW on Apple and their slavish implementation of authoritarianism, whether it comes in the form of their own business practices, the Democrats or China.

Considering what he's up against that would be no bad thing.
