How on earth is that sort of language even allowed to be in existence? 'Them' - used as the object of a verb or preposition to refer to two or more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified. It's not 'two or more people' it's one f**ked up individual, who should not be responsible for anything other than sorting their own life and mind out, if not, authorities need to take over. A sorry state of affairs all round.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

A sudden shaft of the light of truth. It's you stuck in an 80s time warp that's behind your attitude! I am glad that you finally recognise it. What was normal for Tom, Barbara, Jerry, Margot and Stirling in the 80s isn't in 2022. Time moves on. So must we.
In such a politicised environment many concerns are somewhat performative, designed to search out angles that allow someone to round on specific communities or groups (then deny it), be it by casually and incorrectly overly using 'groomer' here or 'racist' for those with immigration concerns. With this drag issue it seems to me it's very often much more about people wanting to appear especially 'right on' rather than nefarious. That doesn't change the fact that anything club themed with kids there to any right minded person is clearly OTT as is expecting someone's Gran to know 98 pronouns. That's the States for you though, it's not as if either end of the political spectrum isn't unfathomable to most. If someone is genuinely concerned about children, as most are, there are pitfalls all over the political and cultural spectrum of detriment to them. Children growing up around religious extremism for instance, or far right radicalisation. All of these things can also be very real concerns within closed communities and echo led environments. Not exactly 'Good Life' material in those scenarios, that I will say. With these important issues we ought to weed out and minimalise the overty political and disingenuous from genuine shared concerns that are clearly valid and good intentioned. That's not a bad path to a balanced outlook, as compared to the present political and cultural lurchings that do little to benefit children or frankly anyone. Whether or not members of the Oath Keepers are guilty of anything is unknown to me. However, I have to highlight the huge simply breathtaking hypocrisy here. Antifa literally rioted along with BLM for 18 months, destroying businesses, taking over actual areas of cities, there was violence, intimidation and people lost their lives. What did the Democrats do about it? They treated these people as their foot soldiers. When they were arrested for damaging business their rich supporters paid their costs and Democrat prosecutors refused to prosecute them and released them back onto the streets. Sedition? Antifa have made it plain that they hate America and want it broken up, they don't even hide that. What I suspect what is happening is political persecution. Biden's administration hurts its enemies and locks them up and it rewards its supporters. The GOP on the other hand play nice and Trump did nothing like that during his 4 years, he didn't even call in the national guard while cities burned as he knew the Democrats would use it politically. If the Republicans get in 2024 (if they can sort out the fraud of mail in ballots, social media collusion and voter harvesting) I suspect that everything will change on that score. For many years now I have been predicting the break up of the US, and I was ridiculed for it, but as time goes on I think more and more also see this as inevitable. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2022 2.24am) This is a text book response, almost to the word, from the right to situations in which one of their own is being called to account. It's fed into the minds of their foot soldiers via their own communication network sitting behind cameras making dubious videos full of conspiracy theories. Those producing the videos are themselves well down the ranks, and mostly unaware they are being used. Sounds like a conspiracy theory itself? Sadly, it's not. In other posts I have encouraged that the BBC podcast series "The Coming Storm" be listened to, and I do so again. This is explained there. How lies about Antifa and BLM are spread via underground right wing media to the point where an alternative reality exists. It's disturbing listening, but it explains a great deal and is very far from one sided. The Republican party is being taken over from the bottom in a deliberate way by people who believe lies fed to them by evil manipulators. It's sad to see the manipulation succeeding here too. PJW anyone? There is no persecution involved here at all. This is justice taking it's course. It's a long hard battle.

Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2022 8.18am) How many times do I need to tell you that patience is needed. If and when Trump gets indicted it needs to be handled very carefully, to avoid causing too much disturbance. The case needs to be watertight and every avenue of defence shut off. Trump has attacked democracy in open sight. Never before has a President done that. That cannot be ignored. Justice is for all and politically blind.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

The scales of justice have got a little heavier on the side of the righteous:- Patience is a virtue and it's reward sweet.
