Why don't you get a room with him....as it's a bit down to just you and him now isn't it lad. Considering the kind of things WE has defended while he's been on Hol it's quite revealing that you admire him so much.

As for what's happened to Alex Jones I regard it as a direct attack on free speech and criminal in its extent. He shouldn't pay it.

Free speech does sometimes have consequences though. It’s not a defence for everything. Plus, America. One of the most litigious societies on the planet. Besides, although I feel the award is extreme, as per usual (surely it will be reduced on appeal anyway) he was allegedly coining 800k a day from his monetising dross at peak lemming so I don’t think he will be suffering too much. Plenty of elites who would dream of earning that sort of dollar.

Also, just because you’re right on some things, doesn’t mean you can’t be taken to task when you’re badly wrong about others. He didn’t just passively ‘pass’ the conspiracy on. He took it over and became its chief mouthpiece.

I also contest the idea that he was doing so naively, or he’s somehow stupid. He found a fault line and amplified it for monetary gain. This relates to my post the other day. Whatever drives the subscribes. Calculated, and deserves some sort of comeuppance for doing so.

Mmmmm....if talking bullsh1t was the yardstick on consequences for free speech we would have hardly any media at all.

As I say, this is highly selective and politically motivated.

I do believe that the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory was damn right evil. Jones rightly apologised for this years ago. Should he be paying people for giving his conspiracy opinion? That's highly debatable and wrong in my view....regardless the judgement of 49 million for one court case (I believe he has two others coming up) is nothing short of outrageous and obviously political to destroy him. As you observe there is nothing proportional here.

Jones is a steam valve and personally I found him entertaining and amusing and sometimes highly accurate....no one else was talking about this peado island were they....turning the frogs gay and inter dimension vampires was highly amusing.

You may have distaste for Jones but I don't think this is going to lead to anywhere positive. It'll just get darker and ensure that this persecution can't happen....off shored probably.

Anyone, marketing manager or not, who knowingly tried to sell something which hurt another, is a criminal. We quite rightly have laws which prohibit that. Explaining its benefits and emphasising its positive aspects, when offering a product, is a million miles away from what Jones has done for years.

I have followed Jones ever since he started the 9/11 conspiracy nonsense. He is nothing more than a modern day snake oil salesman, who has spotted a vulnerable group and exploited them and their attitudes. Some might think that clever. I think he is a criminal now getting what he fully deserves.

I have an American friend who is completely obsessed with Jones and believes all he says. He is far from alone and has a huge network which circulates his nonsense. He remains unvaccinated because of him, convinced 9/11 was fake, that Trump is still the legitimate POTUS etc etc. He has spent bucket loads of money "supporting" his "work".

I don't like right wing politics, but this isn't right wing politics. It's confidence trickery. I don't like Nigel Farage or the Daily Mail, but that doesn't mean they don't have a right to express their opinions. Alex Jones is neither a politician, nor a journalist. He is a criminal, exploiting people to enrich himself. Everyone, from whatever political perspective, needs to condemn that. You don't tolerate it.

The scale of the punishment is quite another matter. That's for the US system to determine. If it was mine, I would lock him away and remove his access to the internet.

What the Justice Dept find from the 2 years of texts they now have is going to be interesting, especially in the run-up to the Capitol riot.

I'll leave the personal insult for others to assess.

He never properly apologised, and constantly rowed back to the theory Sandy Hook was a conspiracy. He knowingly spread hate and personal details of the parents who lost children in that tragedy which opened them up to threats of extreme physical violence

He is a repulsive, disgusting creature who heaped on trauma to to people who have had to suffer something no one should ever have to. He then didn't comply with the trial under false pretences.

Yet you defend him. Good for you

I've heard him apologise myself on Rogan.

You 'knowingly spread hate' here don't you so I regard your concern for such as disingenuous and subjective. I'll defend your right to be repulsive as I defend his.....and yes I do regard the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory as quite terrible.

But unlike you I can have a sense of proportion in the world and whether I like someone or not I apply it.

Damn right I'll defend free speech. I've done that all my adult life and nothing is going to change that so suck it up commie.

The guy who first turned up here calling himself a 'one nation conservative' admits he dislikes right wing politics.....Imagine our shock.

Probably dislikes it as much as he avoids honesty.

I am a one nation conservative.

The right wing of the Tory Party is not what used to be mainstream conservatism. It has always existed on the fringe, but was a small, whilst vocal, minority for most of my life. It became more prevalent as a reaction to UKIP, and many Tory MPs now nod to it, even if, in their heart of hearts, they don't believe it.

One nation conservatives don't like right wing politics. They see the value of social responsibility and fairness. Recognise that progress is both necessary and inevitable, that we live in a shrinking world and are only a small part of it, that we have little or no influence now over its direction and that membership of the EU is not just wise, but essential to our interests.

Right-wingers have a warped reality and eyes looking backwards to mythical great days, which never actually existed. Progress will always take a few wrong turns, and require course corrections, but we learn from mistakes. What matters is we keep going forward. We are, and will, dragging the reticent with us.

Again, I leave the personal insult for others to assess.

Dishonest fabricated humbug.

Anyway I'll focus upon US politics as this is travelling to its usual self indulgent destination.

Suck it up Commie.

I really think that says it all. It is clearly time you took a break. You are beginning to be swallowed up by your online persona, maybe even believing some of it. McCarthyism was supposed to have died out in the 1950s. There was a very good reason why it lost credibility, because constantly claims being made about others proved eventually to be false. But not until after 100s were killed and tens of thousands lost their jobs.

That is what we are faced with. Populism utilises people that are already excitable and heightens their excitement beyond any reasonable level. It also then sucks in - and sets out to suck in so that it becomes normalised - people that are impressionable but otherwise relatively neutral.

I suggest you get some tissues, wipe down the inside of your thighs and then stop reading this pernicious fiction. And definitely stop recommending it to others.

As anyone with any degree of objectivity will realise, if they are regular readers here, by far the most self indulgent posts here don’t come from me.

Yours are often so focused on yourself and your twisted worldview as to be amusing to read. They are frequently, as in the recent ones about Alex Jones, so far from reality to be worthy of being used by a comedian. They are almost as big a parody as Alf Garnett was.

Neo and social liberalism are responsible for degrading just about every social metric there is but my criticism of it and apparently my adherence to social conservativism is strange to you.

I don't mean to be personal because most of my interactions with you are tongue in cheek....but I could take your current/previous job in HR as an example....I'm not criticising you personally....but the expansion of that sector is a largely worthless expense and stands as almost a metaphor for what's gone wrong in the west.

So I regard your desire that I somehow come to accepting the 'sh1te sandwich' and downgraded offerings that neo and social liberalism has served up to almost all but the wealthy...well I think it's completely out of touch with on the ground realities.

You might as well say, 'let them eat cake'.

Perhaps if you lived in a less nice part of Croydon you'd be more in tune with the taste of that sandwich.

Where is this ‘nice’ part of Croydon? Keston, oh sorry no…. Close though
