Whereas in a 2014 Pew Research Center survey, 52% of Minnesota adults said that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. I wonder what has changed. I have a daughter born at 27 weeks so I have a dog in this fight.

Before viability, by a trained M.D. After viability, must be performed in the hospital. After the 20th week, 2nd M.D. must be immediately accessible for any resulting live birth.

Does this bring Minnesota into line with the UK? You can perform an abortion after 24 weeks where there is a risk to life or of permanent injury for the pregnant woman or substantial risk that, if the child were born, he or she would "suffer from such physical or mental abnormalities as to be seriously handicapped". This is not done lightly and has to involve a competent physician.

I suspect this is yet another dog whistle load of nonsense coming from the huge, nasty, well-funded and ultra conservative anti-abortion lobby in the US. I very much doubt a Doctor would abort a 27 week gestation foetus unless it is likely to be a still birth or to suffer very extreme disability.

She is 24. Her head is a bit flat on one side due to lying on it as a premature baby. It was out of the amniotic fluid too early so the skull wasn't hard enough. I kept turning her over, she kept turning back.

Apart from that, she seems pretty good. It's hard to know if there were any effects, for example on the lungs which is common, but it appears not. I have previously mentioned her, she's a total bulldozer in life. A fighter and a survivor it seems.

Note that she was in what was then called SCBU for 9 weeks in what was then called Mayday. It was absolutely fabulous. Way beyond any other experience we have had there. And being 24 years ago, things weren't as well developed in terms of looking after prems then.

The proportion of abortions that are performed at under 10 weeks has continued to increase since 2010. In 2020, 88% of abortions were performed under 10 weeks, increasing from 82% in 2019 and 77% in 2010. In comparison, abortions performed at 10-12 weeks decreased from 9% in 2019 to 6% in 2020. The percentage performed at 20 weeks and over decreased from 2% in 2019 to 1% in 2020.

The legal limit for a woman having an abortion is 24 weeks gestation. This is the point at which the foetus is viable outside the mother's body (this comes from Dept of Health and Social Care and could be debated). Abortions may be performed after 24 weeks in certain circumstances, for example, if the mother's life is at risk or the child would be born severely disabled. Abortions where gestation is 24 weeks or over account for a very small number of abortions (0.1% of the total). There were 236 such abortions in 2020.

Amongst a tiny number of elite that is correct however the idea that orgies and debauchery were all part of normal Roman life is not.

I think it more accurate to view the Romans as we viewed the Profumo affair, most of the country was shocked at how the elite behaved.
