?? Why not. Many decent PL players are on £50k I believe. Also bring in players from abroad ( look at Brighton), many would be happy to earn £35-£40k

Our wage bill will be much reduced at the end of the season. Max M £170k*, Christian Benteke £125 Sako £100k , Batshuayi £100k. That is over £25 millions per year. This will give Palace the opportunity to keep who they want and let go who they want to go. I don't see us missing any of the player mentioned. * Max Including signing on fee. All wage figures are estimates
We don't know that Bats is being paid that much from us clubs do not always pay 100% wages. You have missed out a big point Max had to be paid off to leave he didn't go for free so lets say he was on 170k as you claim we wouldn't leave and only be paid 20k if you have a contract and it is to be terminated etc you pay what remains unless you can agree otherwise well he wouldn't take a massive hit would he. These player will leave for free so we invested in them Ben and Sak £30m each we get 0 for them that is awful business the wages mean nothing they are assets.

Another excellent decision
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Chuffed about this one. Top player not given the playing time he deserves so far. Hopefully that changes now.

So the ones definitely under contract already for 2021-22 is this squad? Guaita / Butland Ferguson (ha!) Kouyate Tomkins ? LB ? Milivojevic Jairo/McCarthy Ayew Zaha Eze Mateta --- So assume new contracts for Ward / Clyne (RB), Mitchell (LB), Cahill (CB) That is 16 - so space for 9 (Nine) more That is quite a lot Perhaps Schlupp and MacArthur will also stay Not sure about Dann or Kelly

But if we can hold onto him, don't see why we wouldn't. Total professional who rarely lets us down, can cover CB/RB and is actually, believe it or not, a pretty decent player.

I thought he was one of the ones running out of contract this summer?

As many have correctly said already, even if we release all the out of contract players and save a fortune on wages, it will leave us ruined as the savings won't cover both the transfer fees and wages for replacements. One option is to source free transfer players this summer as replacements for those we release: Really not a lot there to set the heart racing. Maybe Carter-Vickers? 23 year old centre back, so fits the bill, but a dead man walking at Spurs for years now. On loan at Bournemouth but not even getting a game there. Clarke-Salter is similar. He's from Carshalton so a local lad, but been on loan in the championship for most of his Chelsea 'career'. Lundstram at Sheff United? Apparently Rangers want him. Not sure how good he is, but is only 26/27 so would lower the age a bit? Nat Philips has got a few games for Liverpool recently but will not be first choice when the seniors return from injury. Not sure he's come now though, or that he's any good. He's been on loan to lower division clubs all his Liverpool 'career' too until now. Van Ginkel? Christ knows. All in all I think it's more likely we retain half of our out of contract players at least. Edited by TheBigToePunt (04 Feb 2021 12.10pm)
