Eddie Howe or Frank Lampard are our choices. Howe has much more management experience that Frank, and also Frank has to wait until Roman gives him his final lump sum cheque.......So Eddie is the man to come in next month and Sir Roy will go upstairs.

What bothers me about Howe is that Bournemouth went into a long decline and he seemed clueless as to how to turn it around. Surely the mark of a manager is the ability to handle adversity and he was found wanting.

Like players most Managers are a risk .Fergusion, klopp, all had bad starts .And like players we need to give them time, and have long term plan throughout club. With FTB we just didn't have the players to play his way .For me Put Roy upstairs and either Eddie or Frank, maybe working alongside Lewington .Would actually like to see happen this season when we are safe, to give time and pre season to a New manager .

In reality he wasnt able to apply that wisdom, when Bournemouth were struggling. Do we need a clueless manager, who doesnt know what to do, when things go wrong.

When he returned to Bournemouth in the 2012-13 season, the club were in 20th place in League 1 after 12 games and he got them promoted that season finishing 2nd.

Its not Willo, we are not criticising Howe's achievements just his inability to turn around a club that spiralled into defeat. He went on a great run and no doubt the players had belief in him, why wouldn't they. But sometimes the stars align and you ride the wave of success e.g. Ian Holloway getting us promoted. Most managers and pundits agree that when it goes wrong that is when a manager shows their quality. Howe looked a beaten man week after week when I saw him interviewed and I guess the players eventually lost faith in him. He wasn't unlucky to get relegated.

Listen to the intelligence of the man, very impressive, he can see what it takes to be positive and tactical. He knows what its takes!! Then listen to Roy... Ernie, is worth a punt or do we already have a pre-deal? Forget other choices of possible managers. Ernie or Roy? Ernie if he picks my Premium Bonds. Roy to pick my football team. Eddie Howe to pick up a pundit job.

Managers have troughs as well as peaks and just because they have a trough does not equate to them being "Useless". Edited by Willo (01 Feb 2021 10.02am)

Howe , benefited from developing his brand in the lower leagues ,and then riding a wave to the top. It’s was a decent brand and it took a year or two to go sour, but when it did he had no answer.

Roy cannot go on indefinitely and has to retire in the not too distant future.

I think that any manager who takes his side from 20th position in League 1 to the PL and keeps them there for 5 seasons deserves a great deal of credit.
