Yes I see but what is recent?

The rate at which the earth's temperature is increasing has doubled over the last 50 years. The consensus amongst scientists/climatologists is that such an increase is unlikely to be explained solely on the grounds of a natural cyclical increase as there is no previous record of such a marked change taking place in such a short period of time.

Incorrect as stated before been all explained by Connollys and none of these so called scientists especially the ones which claimed about man causing these issues have had anything to come back at them with.

The planet will go through cycles because we have no record doesn't mean anything record keeping plus technology wasn't that great hundred to thousands of years ago.

If we get wiped out what does it matter the planet will thrive without us.

The use of children to front political messaging is certainly wrong.

The concept of climate change makes sense considering how the industrial revolution has rapidly altered the atmospheric conditions.

That's one thing, however as for what her movement details as the way forward it isn't only unrealistic but it's frankly nuts.

But always look at where the money comes from....that decides societal acceptability....it has nothing to do with rationality.

The establishment...with their two cars and all the rest of is hypocritically treated her like a star while they carried on as before..... it just further illustrated their expediency to anyone with a critical eye.

Is there a problem - almost certainly the answer to that is yes there is.
Unless the likes of China - and they won't - do the right thing then it will only get worse.
What really hacks me off though is the hundreds of billions of pounds wasted on green initiatives just so that those in power can tick a box to say that they have done their bit.
I am not a green - quite the opposite in fact - but there is huge amount of stuff that goes on in the world which if stopped would really help but it would be too uncomfortable and difficult to stop - it could be done but where there is no will there is no way.
Instead we waste billions doing s*** all when we could do more for less.
I make no sense but I know what I mean!

I'm pleased for you
Seriously yes simple, little and often.
Although I still think its bollox.
What I find a little weird though and this is a mix up;
People believe the science of climate change and beat the drum about it, but the very same people dont beleive the science of coronavirous.
Although it's similar learned people doing the science. Strange really!

Very true. It's about having a go at Government.

Government aren't doing enough about climate change. Let's all protest.
Government are listening to scientists but then telling us what to do. Let's all protest.
Government aren't listening to scientists on anything. Let's all protest.
Caroline Lucas gets elected PM. But she doesn't walk from her Brighton ward every day to the Commons so she's "sold out". Let's all protest.
Folk are a strange breed.

Greta Thunberg.

When it comes to celebrities, Our Mass Media have really abandoned any attempt at Quality Control.

Fifty fifty she'll be on 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here' within five years.

Or You’re not a celebrity and no one cares if you stay there.
