Pathetic isn't it? The bloke has only done great things for this club

When Carragher was asked if there were any positives for Palace fans last night he took a sharp intake of breath, then looked down at his shoes. Whilst this was probably in an effort not to swear at the presenter, he came up with a good answer pretty quickly.

He said we are almost guaranteed to finish between 10th and 15th, as we've done for the last 8 seasons. He said the reason he thinks we do that is because the board don't panic and take their time making decisions.

Whilst in my opinion, they've taken too much time over the decision to get rid of Hodgson, they've built that safety net as we have a squad strong enough to stay up with no need for drastic change.

Excellent stewardship has got us from fighting for our Championship place against Doncaster 10 years ago to fans argument that survival in the premiership is no longer the minimum success criteria the club should have.

We're at a difficult crossroads. There's only 9 clubs in the premiership who are been there longer than us.

Here we go again! best chairman we ever had blah blah!! bloke done wonders blah blah!! longest run in the top flight blah blah!!

Crap!! he has got more lives than a cat. He has been lucky with his managerial appointments. Stumbled across Pulis, Allardyce, and Hodgson, all out of work at the right time. Hodgson is the only one who was prepared to be a yes man, only because he knows it is his last job. Parish is responsible for letting a squad become the oldest the premier league has ever known, giving out ridiculous contract extensions to crocks like Wickham and Sakho, and a busted flush like Benteke. Also the guy goes quiet on social media at times like this when we need someone to tell us how we will rebuild this squad, the new stand etc. He only comes out when the sun shines!!!

Marvelous adult response to the reasons SP is terrible... I mean.. the blah blah really put the message across.

There will undoubtedly be an overhaul at the end of the season and fair enough if Hodgson can crawl us across the finish line this season.

As for his stumbling... I wish i could stumble like him.

Fact is: We are still in the premier league.

Are you suggesting Steve Parish should not have saved our club when we were about to go to the wall.
All he has done is for the benefit of the club he loves.
You sound like a spoilt child.
ie. I want my team to be top of the league and I want it now (stamp foot)! I wont go to bed until we have won the Champions League. (stamp foot again)
Go support some other club, we dont want you, you naughty boy.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when responding to a post you could at least make sure that your response is relevant to the post that you are quoting and not just a general rant at no-one in particular.

For the avoidance of doubt no-one in their right mind would think that the poster that you were quoting was suggesting that Steve Parish should not have saved our club when we were about to go to the wall as that is just a figment of your rather fanciful imagination

Getting us out of administration.
Getting us a proper training ground, owned by the club and not rented.
Getting a proper academy set up
Getting promoted to the Prem
Staying in the top division for the longest period in our history.

It reminds me of the Monty Python sketch "What did the Romans do for us?". Compared with the old gangsters Noades and Waite he is a paragon of fair dealing.

It wasn't admin, it was insolvency. The Administrator ran out of money.

Rather unfair Midlands. Poster asked a question which may or may not have been rhetorical.

It was responding to a rather hysterical attack on Parish 'supporters'.

The point stands, nonetheless.

Hodgson is the lightning conductor. But not responsible for years of underinvestment in players; the failure to re-invest any part of the AWB monies; hiding behind FFP; new contracts given to serial underperformers; taking huge personal reward out of the club; and the failure to advance the new stand development. Arthur Wait and Ron Noades managed their respective stand developments in 12 months "door to door". It really is not rocket science.

can i ask? did you read that post back before posting?

if not i suspect you may want to in future as what you posted was utter tripe.

if i am being honest a long term poster like yourself really should know better.

My post was in defence of Steve Parish, the previous poster was denegrating the man. I think Sir u are mistaken in your view of the subject of my post, surely you must agree the previous poster was behaving like a naughty child?post quote=Midlands Eagle;3603417]
