I feel like this thread should be entitled ‘someone with loads o’ money IN’ I might amend this further actually to ‘Someone with loads o’ money, who’s gained it through ethical means, is happy to throw said money around for the benefit of the club whilst allowing Parish to retain control... IN!’
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The football may not be pretty but it beats some of the s***e I've seen and awful games I've been to when we didn't have a pot to piss in. Better the devil we know, definitely. (I don't even think he's a devil) Our season back in 2012/13 where we won promotion, that was our most entertaining season and we won a trophy... guess what, it didn't;t take the prep money, high wages or superstar names. Don't think being in the prem equates to success. We need to reduce wages, to that of a newly promoted club. we need to lower the average age, we need to source local talent and have a scouting system. We need to play the prem at it's own game... accept the crazy money it awards us, invest it so wisely the we don't become blackmailed and hijacked by it. ranked 17th for wages, ranked 11th - 13th each season with a fun cup run... yes please.
This was once a quality forum.... |

The youngsters are doing extremely well but the next hurdle is keeping hold of them, when attention from the bigger clubs starts. The biggest axe I have to grind with SP is his want of being loud on social media when things are going well but his silence when, perhaps fans need to know what is going on.

There will always be chancers but I doubt there are any serious buyers out there at the moment. Until we are back to normal why would you buy a football club with the financial uncertainties.

I would have thought that provided your pockets were deep enough to ride out this storm if you were one of those people or consortiums that had a hankering to buy / own a football club (one that has potential to be more than the sum of its parts / current value)

Now is the best possible time to buy. Everything from now on is upside. Those with money at the levels we are talking will always have money.

It's not like they've suddenly realised that half the squad is free to leave with only a few months to go. There will obviously be some sort of strategy in place. Does it make it ideal? No. Have they adjusted their plans for it well in advance? Has to be yes. The club isn't run like a Sunday League WhatsApp group.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Not sure what he's done wrong other than not being a billionaire willing to spunk a load of money into a football club. Probably getting into bed with the Americans, in an attempt to bring in fresh cash, is probably his biggest mistake. However, as someone else has already posted, at least he didn't sell to someone only to saddle the club with massive debts. Parish is a breath of fresh air compared to Jordan, Goldberg, Noades and Ray Bloye who were all disasters overall (although Noades did have some success). Arthur Wait was before my time so can't comment on him. Be careful what you wish for. How very true.
