The amount of good that Parish has done far outweighs any mistakes he has made. I agree we should look forward rather than back, but from a financial standpoint I can't see beyond this club continuing to do more than battle to stay afloat in the Premier League. To achieve the potential in the club that has been talked about ever since I can remember, now requires an enormous injection of funds. Sadly, we don't have a Tony Bloom type investor that not only has significant wealth but also supports the club. So I think Parish has done the right thing - invest heavily in an Academy that makes the club a competitive option for the best young talent. Hopefully we will see some players come through the ranks in the next few years. The delicate balancing act is to also stay in the top flight. With little ( in comparison ) money available. I don't see that he has much option other than to be cautious.

The trouble is our mega rich American owner has no interest in this club. Attachment: plWEALTHCHART2020.png (834.99Kb)

Who was the one that let them come onboard SP and he knew full well they was not here to pump money into the club for transfers etc (which they did end up doing) What happened to that 60m+ that was suppose to be ring fenced they put in which was for the stadium it has disappeared. People need to stop living of SP nostalgia the guy got the club for 0 at the right time we got promoted this gave us a lot of money due to other clubs not being great and again at right time managers available we survive. He has run the club poorly paying out massive wages to average players and look at the structure back room staff past palace people and even the production side is complete amateur. (the training facilities plus sports science is only what it is because of AP and SA)

(the training facilities plus sports science is only what it is because of AP and SA) I do not disagree with anything you say above, for a long time now I have been concerned about the way Parish runs this club, he has allowed this team to literally fall apart due to his habit of looking for bargain basement injury prone players, loanees who can't command a first team spot at other clubs and those who are past their sell by dates. Those who think we are safe this season please be aware that with the injury list we currently have and the next few games where if we had a fit team we would be expected to pick up points, however that now looks unlikely and then the run in which on paper looks really difficult will leave us in position where we may have to rely on Fulham and WBA continuing with their bad form to stay up. Should the unthinkable happen and we actually do get relegated then we do not have the players who could bounce back and therefore we would have to rebuild the whole squad and we need to just look at Portsmouth and Sunderland as examples of where we could end up!

Southampton and Leeds were in League 1 in 2010, Leicester were higher than us in the Championship, and Wolves were in the Premiership. All 4 have much bigger resources than us. Granted Leicester have performed better than us over the last decade. There's that much between us, Southampton, and Wolves over the last 10 years despite being at a financial disadvantage. We have outperformed Leeds, and drastically out performed all the teams listed on my previous post. We are a very well run club even if we are being a little too cautious at the moment. You make my point for me! As Leeds and Southampton were in League One in 2010 and are now ahead of us in the Premiership, then we have fallen behind them, No?
