And it pains me to say it but if I had a manure scarf I would be wearing it with passion tonight.

Boys, do you see what you have done?

pint of absinthe, lay down in dark room silvertop.

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

Just what the league needed. A good aul relegation scrap to liven things up. I must admit I am delighted with Fulham getting that win yesterday, Now our players have no option but to stand up and be counted because they actually have a reason to win games. We would have learned nothing if Fulham just rolled over and died and we got to live an easy life.

Roll on tomorrow, COYP

For all the fear we have about relegation, there are still teams below us who will be even more scared. Newcastle without Wilson for some time a good example

Can see us finishing 17th surviving on goal difference.

A Palace win tonight when they are overwhelming favourites to beat us would place a huge burden on Brighton and knock their confidence sideways. They would start to play with real fear and uncertainty that may take too long to address.

If only...

We are clearly in a bit of a rut and it will take a real collective effort to shore up the defence and make us hard to beat again.
Of the teams below

Burnley - mullered us and won't go down
Brighton - bang full of confidence, good to watch, still find scoring a problem but will not go down.
Newcastle - struggling and along with us are nervously looking over their shoulder.
Fulham - I have seen a lot of their recent games. They play nice attacking football but struggle to score. However, if Lookman and Maja start to click Newcastle and us are in trouble.
WBA - basically they are gone, despite showing renewed vigour recently and surely should have beaten Burnley on Saturday with 10 men given more composure in front of goal.
Sheffield U - gone.

10/1 odds are freely available on Palace getting relegated. Lose tonight and again on Saturday, which without Wilf is a strong possibility, those odds will tumble.

For the first time I'm beginning to feel that I'm not that concerned about going down. Perhaps, as Fulham creep up on us this is a form of emotional self-protection i.e. preparing for the worst so that if it happens it won't be too painful.

I know that there is no guarantee of a quick return, but a glance at the Championship table show last years relegated clubs all in the top 6, along with Swansea who went down a couple of years before.

I may be wrong, but I believe rebuilding the side would be less of a challenge outside of the Premier League. We could be a bit more adventurous with the choice of new manager, although it might exclude some of the names currently being touted. We might be able to blood some of our academy players. One or two of our older players whom we might have got rid of could provide a backbone of experience. And, we could look around for promising young players who might not be quite ready for Premier League football.

Of course we'd no doubt have to say goodbye to the likes of Zaha and Eze, but that may happen anyway, and the loss of these players wouldn't have the same impact if we were in the Championship.

Of course we would have to offload certain players who are draining the wage budget without contributing much if anything at all!

Easy really

After that win Betfair sports book offering 35/1 on relegation. A win on Saturday and surely another year at the top table will be ours.
