I do understand where you are coming from, however Roy is not responsible for his own salary that has been agreed by Parish as is the contracts that have been extended on players who are always injured or who have just lost their skills. Then there is the lack of investment in a team largely inherited from other managers and the injury list that means his option are limited meaning he is left
with little option but to play players out of position or worse still those are just not good enough for this league. As the old saying goes "you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear"

Pulis didn't do too bad with the Championship squad he inherited from Holloway. I note that Hodgson has yet to better Pulis' finish despite having four opportunities to do so and his so called "best squad".

For me 1. Nuno Espirito
2. Benitez
3. Eddie Howe
4. Scott Parker (meant Parker not Pardew lol)
5. Bonus option Lampard.

No Gerrard no Terry no Viera no Dyche
And time to go Roy.

I am in the Roy out camp .But no way is any new manager is going to take this job on in our current situation. Unless its a temporary type Big Sam ,Pullis person.Might as well wait and do a proper job when season over .

Benitez for me too ,but don't imagine we could afford him and he would want a big budget.

Given the choice, I’d rather we did over Brighton.

I’ve been ‘Roy Out’ for a while now but in all honesty that is (in my mind only) a logical stance relative to our situation as it stands now. I don’t think any nostalgia can really be afforded in football but by the same token would never look to discount or refuse acknowledgement that RH has kept us up for numerous seasons and at the end of the day it’s an achievement that warrants respect if not high praise.

If we can get over the line this season including beating the weed, again, at their place with RH to bow out as amicably as possible at the end that would be my preference and I’d suggest the most desirable outcome for all. I would also assume this is what Parish and co. are hoping for.

If we lose miserably on Monday however, and this were to be true, I’d probably be minded to side with anything other then what we’ve seen all too often especially without Zaha, and that is us looking unlikely to ever score let alone compete in or win a game.

Similarly, I hope we get one over on them and he bows out amicably at the end of the season.

Could be a big risk doing it now with a manager like Howe not known for his defensive qualities.

Is that a wind up?

His last job in Holland he was with a club 7 points adrift with him claiming only 1 win.

Out of the pan and in to the inferno territory.

What you say is true, however it does not take away the fact that this squad of players currently available are just not good enough or are well past their sell by dates for this league and remember Pullis walked away because of lack of transfer funds being made available, something Roy has never done or even threatened to do. Roy although not perfect has largely been responsible for keeping us in this premier league for the last 4 years without significant team investment and in by doing so has been able to earn this club considerable income. How that money has been spent is down to Parish!

Rumour has it that Newcastle are preparing a shortlist to
replace Bruce. Guess who are three of the names = Dyche, Howe and Cooper.

That is the key issue in attracting a manager with the necessary skills, this squad currently needs considerable investment in new blood and no manager with the skills we would like to attract here is going to come to a club that is not prepared to spend money on new players and who have investors (Americans) who have made no secret that they are only interested in getting out and not in the future of the club. Replacing Roy is not going to be easy!
