there's been a plunge of Valerien Ismael, once destroyed by Carl Leaburn, he's 7/2 ahead of Howe in the betting (5/1) with Lamps out to 6/4 against and Dyche out marginally to 10/3 - I still reckon they want Dyche, it just depends on how the ownership issue pans out at Burnley.

I'm intrigued to know how they are going to announce Roy Hodgson's departure and his replacement. There's obviously some respect being paid to Hodgson by allowing the end of our season to be about him, rather than his successor. I reckon they'll leave it to ahead of the last game of the season so he can have his lap of honour and featurette on MOTD, and then announce the replacement the next day or something. Or possibly with two games to go so that there is time for him to be on Football Focus before the last game and they'll do a soppy retrospective.

Hear hear, he was doing well with us until he wasn't allowed to buy the CB we had on loan, we then went backwards for a while.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

That's all well and good if Hodgson intends to retire but if he doesn't and we don't renew his contract that will not reflect well.

How can we attract new players or even keep those that we already have if there is such a huge cloud hanging over the position of manager and the players obviously don't know what's happening as one of them is bound to have leaked it by now

I reckon the playing staff know what's happening, or at least know that Roy is off at the end of the season. I just can't imagine that a business would keep staff in the dark like that, when so much hinges on who the manager is. I get what you're saying about leaks, but it's not impossible to keep things within the club. I'm sure fans never know the half of what goes on.

No doubt everyone seems to be playing their cards very close! I agree with Midlands that’s not great from a players and potential player perspective.
Not long now though the season is nearly done - so we’ll find out soon.

I’m not particularly inspired by any of the names being mentioned to be honest. I could argue that Lampard intrigues me more than anyone but I don’t really want intrigue, I want confidence that the manager is going to progress my football club.
From the others, Dyche is likely to be more of the same which I’m bored of and Howe appeared lost towards the end of his Bournemouth reign. As for Valerien Ismael, surely not?! He’s had a very impressive debut season at Barnsley but we have to be aiming higher and putting our future in the hands of someone who is more proven and trusted.

Benitez or Ralph Rangnick for me.

Ralph Rangnick is a very good shout,i think he managed Shalka once and speaks very good English.

Announcement when mathematically safe? The longer it goes on the less likely he will be here next season.
I agree the clubs preferred choice is Dyche.
As a nod to the title of the post its a no to Howe.

I amazed that none of the names banded about about becoming our manager have distanced themselves from the position through the media etc.So for me one candidate has been approached and accepted the job.And that for me is Howe or Lampard as both free agents.Dyche I think would be a bit more complicated aquasition. Just an opinion ?
