And to me. Why would he? Does he really need to prove (to others or himself) that he can take what will be a broken Championship team and bring them up again? I expect him to take a job with a PL club - possibly us.

Well he hasn’t had any other offers, so it will most probably be us.

If there is going to be a new manager it needs to be done soon, because the squad needs reinforcements, and they have to be what a new man wants. If it is Howe, he does have experience beyond most of his age, but I can’t see him working with little or nothing done with new faces in the team. My worry with him is he relied so much on players that had been with him from much lower in the leagues.
He would need to hit the floor running here, with whatever is at hand,. No years of building in the basement.

If and a big if we are going to change .. now not at the end of the season is the time to bring him in, 9 games to go, a 3 week break ish to work with some of the team .. then the remaining part of the season see what he has to work with ..

We’re safe so no point in procrastinating any longer.. either stick or twist SP ..

Agree. If it’s going to happen, no point in waiting. Last game of the season all the players go on holiday, some go to the euros, the new manager would have hardly any time.
I’d like to see a new manager come in to work alongside Roy Until the end of the season, if there is to be a change. That way, he can have a proper look at the squad and Roy doesn’t get mugged off after keep us up for the last few years.

I'd like to see Eddie Howe get the job but I don't think it is likely that Parish will make the change before the season finishes out of respect for Roy, who has done a good job under the circumstances. However, I hope Parish has had discussions with Howe and has got him lined up for the switch and they are also discussing the players and who stays and who goes. I think Howe has shown he can manage successfully in the PL for a number of years, unlike Wilder who had one good PL season followed by a disastrous one!

I think the summer promises to be a very interesting one for Palace fans.

I don't think he will get the job . All this guessing who it will be or not , I think SP has already lined up [ not who I would choose ] Chris Coleman

During Coleman's reign as manager at English clubs, each of the 3 clubs lost more games than they won.

At his last job in England, he did take over Sunderland when they were rock-bottom after 17 games and they were still at the foot of the table when he left 1 game before the end of the season. There were extenuating circumstances which he had to deal with.

If it is going to be Howe, Parish has probably already spoken to him and no-one in their right mind would take the job without knowing who is leaving and having an input into who is needed to strengthen the squad.

If not Howe then Parish could also have contacted whoever he has in mind

That was never a sensible option as it was never likely that Gerrard would leave a Champions League team for perennial Premier League strugglers that field a team mostly older than he is

Possibly not but winning a 2 team league in Scotland is not a great indication of a managers ability, he needs to manage in a competitive league first.
