Difficult to know whether RH approves of Mateta. Not the first suggestion that when it comes to signing players or even taking them on loan, Parish, Freedman, Hodgson don't sing from the same hymn sheet. Given that the manager picks the team, gets the plaudits when things go well and takes the brickbats when they don't,there's not much point in signing a player the manager won't play: Jach, Sorloth, Meyer.

Am I the only one who doesn't see what he fuss with Mateta is? Can't help but feel that one great moment against Brighton is really clouding people's judgement of him. Apart from that He seems not really up to Prem standard at the moment. (Of course we know players from abroad often need time to adapt and can do so). Seems unable keep the ball effectively, whether that be in hold up play or when running at players and not strong enough yet.
