Yes, relying on the opposition not taking their chances as opposed to creating and scoring yourself is not really a sound football strategy. The most we could have scored in that match was nil. In fact our most dangerous moment was from their defender, �passing� it back to the goalkeeper.

Let me explain. We have a relatively small squad and we have topped the injuries list for half the season. Fulham have found very good form in recent weeks, and virtually a full squad, averaging 2 points per game. Fulham played really well on the day and I would be surprised if they could have played a lot better. Accepting we didn't play well, we did have a couple of chances but didn't find the man or hit the target and Guita only had to make one good save. I point was much better for us, in our position in the table, than it was for them.

Let me explain. We have a relatively small squad and we have topped the injuries list for half the season. Fulham have found very good form in recent weeks, and virtually a full squad, averaging 2 points per game. Fulham played really well on the day and I would be surprised if they could have played a lot better.

Accepting we didn't play well, we did have a couple of chances but didn't find the man or hit the target and Guita only had to make one good save. I point was much better for us, in our position in the table, than it was for them.

The Premier League is not the be all and end all. As long as we have a team to support, the division doesn't matter. I've been going to Palace for 21 years and this is the most unenjoyable its ever been.

I've always respected Roy's interviews as he tells it straight, but he's had a few shockers recently, including yesterday.

I know we have injuries, but we were dire. Zero shots at home against a team in the relegation zone is unacceptable. Perhaps it would have been different with a crowd to urge them forward. The only positive was the result which was totally undeserved.

If they performed like that in front of a full stadium, they would have been booed off.

It is the exact opposite.
Defending and destroying opposition play is MUCH easier and less phisical demanding than attacking and building your own play.
An Italian Serie A manager some time ago told me, attacking wins you matches, defending wins you trophies.

This isn�t our most successful period ever, that was the Wright/Bright era (now that was exciting) This is our longest period in top flight football. Whilst the shareholders may be happy with us limping over the line each year to stay in the division, it doesn�t mean us fans enjoy it. However, I can see why it's being played that way, and if the overriding business strategy and intention is to stay in the Premiership (which I'm pretty certain it is), then it's been successful.
