As Greavsie might have said: Rest in Peace in Chilly Jocko Land my friend

Liverpool fans of a certain vintage speak very highly of him as a player and they’ve had a few good ones since his day.

His 22 goals during their promotion season to the First Division in the early Sixties certainly helped Liverpool on the way to dominance for the next 25 years.

Jesus saves...but St John scores with the rebound.

Seemed a good bloke and him and Greavesy just seem like a golden age of punditry now.

Who'd have thought he'd go before Greavsie, eh?

Loved watching him on Saint and Greavsie.
Was watching a show the other day on Youtube funnily enough. Seemed like a good fella, brightened up my days as a kid growing up. RIP.

Some more sad news.
Just a spate of sad news at the present time.
Chris Kamara and a friend of mine were on Portsmouth's books in the 70s when Ian St John was manager.

I used to really enjoy "Saint & Greavsie".

Thoughts go out to all his family and friends RIP.

'Saint and Greavsie' why did they ever take it off?

Great fun and informative, compulsory Saturday viewing before the action.

And Ian St.John was an excellent centre forward for Liverpool and Scotland.

RIP.

You just can't help yourself with the name-dropping, can you?

Very sad news. St.John was an established Liverpool star when I first got interested in football in 1964. I will always remember the winning goal he headed home in the 1965 Cup Final against Leeds.

It makes me feel old and sad to see the generation of players from that era dying off, they all now being in their late 70s or 80s.
