when i saw the thread title i thought it was an enquiry about Marital relations.

And old age.

And people too tired to be bothering with previous recreational activities. And being just good friends, mates.

Guesstimate : Age 60 , or 45 if his lifestyle is like Winston Churchill's

What happened to 'Good Morning Sir, how may I be of assistance to you today?'

Times change and unlike yourself I'm glad as I don't like the overt formality of the past despite being of similar age to you.

The only people who should be referred to as "sir" are knights of the realm

Americans have a proclivity to address gentlemen as "Sir" as a mark of respect.

I recall the days when chaps used to be addressed as "Guvnor", "Cock" or "Squire".
I also recall from yesteryear a chap who, enquiring about the well-being of someone, used to say with some regularity "Awright Geez ?".

I’m very close to where you live and chances are if you’ve visited my place of work and have been wearing anything Palace related I’ve probably called you mate.

That's different, and in which case I'd be happy chat with you mate.

At the moment my Palace face mask identifies my allegiance. Although a couple of folk have thought I was Spurs fan!

When I am next taking a genteel stroll in Midhurst along 'North Street' or 'Knockhundred Row' and I see a gentleman adorned with a Palace face mask I might conclude it is you!
