This has been discussed before and is now confusing as players still under contract are being listed too.

For the record Kelly, Jeff and Jimmy Mac signed extensions last year so are not out of contract this summer.

For me definitely release the deadwood - Sakho, Tekkers and Wickham.

Bats to return to Chelsea.

Keep - one of Clyne or Ward
Keep - Cahill (if he wants it) and not Dann
Keep - Mitchell - PVA wants to go

Possible - Andros, has picked up recently and we have no wing cover

McCarthy - he probably wants to go to Celtic. With his injury record maybe best

Hennessey - probably wants 1st team football and won't get it with us

Personally, I think getting rid of Clyne and PVA is madness. Both will provide adequate cover for us next year.

I believe PVA is looking for 'Pastures new'.

It really depends on some of those players demands. Some on reduced wages might be good squad players ,as there replacements might not be as cheap or available ?

That's my understanding as well. Also, it is significant that Hannam (one of our U23 LBs) has been on the bench for the last two games. As I've said elsewhere, he looks very promising. Only joined us last summer, so he's risen to the top of the U23 pile pretty quick.

These are the players actually believed to be out of contract:

Hennessey (Leave)
Henderson
Clyne
Ward
Dann (Leave)
Cahill
Sakho (Leave)
PVA (Leave)
McCarthy (Leave)
Townsend
Bats (Leave)
Benteke
Wickham (Leave)

I think Clyne stays because of Ferguson's injury record and the ability of Ward/Clyne to cover left back if we don't buy Mitchell competition.

McCarthy is the only other one of the leave group that might stay. I worry about his body giving up on him already.

I'd be amazed if any of the other 'leave' group stay, and would expect the remainers to mostly be on 1 year extensions to take the sting out of the size of the overhaul this year.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

Why would we want to keep Henderson when even Butland can't get a game? Surely we can use one of our Academy keepers as a third choice and only replace if a serious injury occurred to Guaita or Butland. Also why keep both Ward and Clyne, since if Ferguson isn't ever going to be fit we should recruit another young RB.

I'm not advocating we strip the squad of its experience but this will be the time to start bringing some younger players on board.

PVA is a pretty poor defender, good attacking but otherwise should go.
he wants to anyway.
keep clyne.

I would only look at keeping Clyde if Ferguson doesn’t make some appearances before the end of the year. Ward is a much better option than Clyde.

Looking at strikers I think benteke will stay. But just think on this. Rashid Harkouk scored 21 goals in 54 games. Benteke has scored about 25 in 125. Pound for pound Benteke is a s*** striker, but the management seem to think he can do nothing wrong.

We will be better off without Benteke and Sakho. Their play is not sharp enough and they are draining cash.

I quite like PVA, he's a good defensive attacker, but he seems keen for a move and as such, is potentially a liability now.

But, who's this Clyde chap?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
