A pair of tweezers?

I'll put you out of your misery...
A small colander which funnily had a broad brim. Each time they scooped, more gravel was pushed away than caught.
They had bought a large wheelbarrow, but hadn't given any real thought to how the stuff would get in it!
It was awful to see them, a husband and wife team in their mid 40's, he badly overweight with diabeties wheeling the stuff away and her scooping.
I had to help. It took 1.5 hours and no I used a shovel.

Please tell me they didn’t spread the gravel with a rolling pin

Are the neighbours going for a pebble-dash look on their house exterior ?

I can see them wobbling perilously on ladders and scoffold to meticulously superglue individual stones to the outside walls.
