After I posted that, Hrolf told me to put up or shut up which I interpreted as a challenge.

On reflection, your post yesterday was unfair, Midlands Eagle.
I may be a number of things but I don't indulge in mud slinging towards other posters. That's not my style. If it was, presumably I'd have received a yellow card years ago.

A challenge you responded to with dross.

Didn’t watch the funeral, so can only comment from the clip I watched on the news, but I must say that I felt incredibly sorry for the queen.

Whatever ones views on the monarchy, it’s hard not to feel for her. Seeing her like that with her head bowed in grief actually made me feel quite emotional.

Yes, she cut a lonely figure. The role itself is lonely and with this on top, and well as seeing her there on her own.... tough to see.

I have no specific love or dislike of the monarchy, but as a person in that role, she's demonstrated everything you could ever hope or ask for, and over decades. In her own way she's a quite remarkable woman.

Mainstream media is somewhat slanted, but with the nation watching it can at least be called out en-masse and has to adhere to certain norms and realities.

The problem with the Internet is that it's the equivalent of a bunch of seedy back alleys. Half of these videos and tweets people invest their entire being into are created by basement dwellers that have little of value to say to their pet cat, let alone the nation.

Sure many aspects of life are subjective. But the wacky answer isn't always the right one.

Absolutely. She has always been a model of dignity and we should be proud of her.

My thoughts exactly. Unfortunately there is a distinct possibility HRH will slip into a rapid decline now. Philip (whatever people think of him) was her rock for 70 years, will be very difficult for her now

I did watch it, and you are spot on. Thought Harry’s half-arsed bow at the coffin was strange

Not really if you believe the conspiracy theories, or Mohamed al Fayed. I echo the comments about the queen but my forlorn hope is that the monarchy ends with her passing. The uniforms, bullsh*t protocol, hypocrisy, snobbery, the gravy train and Prince Andrew should all be consigned to history, then the people would be sovereign and this toxic dump of a country might get the regeneration it needs - won't happen but one can but hope.

You have to think about what would replace it.
In 2021 Britain, I would be very concerned about the nature of such a change.

My thoughts exactly. Would take a royal family over a politician any day
