- Michelle O'Neill is an elected leader of just about the biggest party in the Province.

- she was a child during most of the Troubles.

- her attempts to show respect toward Prince Philip and his supporters is the only way any progress can happen in Ulster.

- as a politician , she is probably no more nor less murderous than Tony Blair, US presidents, or anybody else you mention. I reckon she has never killed anybody.

- the peace in the North is very fragile, thanks to people like you. Luckily Prince Philip was more of a mature man than yourself. More noble.

But blm can drag back 150 years of history and blame every white person on the planet. If the IRA killed or maimed your family the memory won't dissappear because the leader didn't do it.

The 'RA did kill some of Philip's family. Earl Mountbatten.

Philip was a figurehead for the UK armed forces, forces that shot 26 civilians on the streets of Derry in 1972.

Peace begins with mutual respect, apologies and forgiveness.

Ulster can stay British, or become irish or join the Arab league for all i care. Peace is paramount.

He called himself a refugee- and if you come to britain at least learn the language, its ain"t !HRH wouldn"t have time for lazy people, that includes their writing.

Pushing it here CP. Crikey. Pulling someone up on language. You might want to look at your own rubbish posts.

edinborough? Do you mean the capital city of Scotland? That would be Edinburgh.
sloath? Do you mean sloth?
analagy? Do you mean analogy?
rubber dingy? Do you mean rubber dinghy?
And how about capitalising proper nouns?

And do try and find the apostrophe key. It's beneath the '@' key on a standard keyboard. (see what I did there?)

You also question if it's legal to marry your third cousin. Well, it is. It's actually legal to marry your first cousin in this country.

What's this guff about refugee from France about? He was exiled from his country of birth at the age of 18 months. He didn't sneak on a boat. Where did you dream that up? He was schooled in France, England, Germany and then Scotland, where he conceived the idea which became the DofE Award. The refugee comment was about how the public viewed him, "[I'm seen as] a refugee husband of Queen Elizabeth..".

Also, the tiger he shot was 60 years ago.* But he also co-founded the World Wildlife Fund the same year. He was their first president.

*There wasn't a shortage of tigers back then, but there was a problem of tiger attacks in villages. This was possibly caused by the expansion of the population, which may have been (probably was) due to the British colonising India.

Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers

The big difference though was that he was a GENUINE refugee not an economical migrant! He also proceeded to do more for this country than all the thousands crossing now ever will ( and yes they are still arriving in their hundreds every day) funny how the media have stopped reporting it

Shame this thread has been derailed into another slanging match.

I liked Phillip, he always appeared honest and spoke his mind. A real character and as someone else has said a constant in all of our lives since we were born, except of course those few still around that are older than him. RIP

Both. The Tory party has been going downhill for some years.

Excellent post. Still too many, though, living in the 1970s.
