Have we ever signed a relegated player? Serious question

Going back to our Championship days, Joel Ward, after Portsmouth were relegated

On relegated players I would look at;

Robinson - Fulham L/B - very impressive every time I've seen him.
Bogle - Sheff U R/B - I wanted us to sign him before Sheff U signed him from Derby.
Gallagher - WBA/Chelsea - exactly what we need.
RLC Fulham/Chelsea - definitely we played some great stuff when we had him on loan.

Outside of that players from the Championship from teams that may not go up;

Olise - Reading - this boy is going to be an absolute star, apparently has an £8M release clause in his contract, at that price would be a bargain..!!
Toney - Brentford - I wanted us to sign him from Peterborough - now top scorer in the Championship with 29 goals.
Downes - Ipswich - been injured but looks a class act.

Others - on frees

Radu - Juventus C/B
Kotchap - C/B - I suspect we will resurrect interest.

That's my shopping list - get some of those on board and then we'll be talking..!!

But I'm dreaming right..!!

For me Thauvin... if Wilf goes, he’s a much better player now than he was at Newcastle...high wages though I suspect...Gallagher....like the look of either Urboghide of Sheffield Wed or Sunderland’s Sanderson...both young Centre backs and not hugely expensive....

Been reported that Gallagher will be allowed to leave for just 9 mill as Chelsea want to raise funds for bigger name transfers.

Sanderson has just suffered an injury that will rule him out for the remainder of the season (Somehow I feel this increases the likelihood we'll sign him given past experiences like Ferguson). I actually rate Sanderson very highly and hear very good things about him up here.

But in fairness to the OP neither player is going to be relegated.
