If it comes, it will be time to no longer acknowledge the Top 4 Premier League's fans and maybe Spurs and City whose fans are not so glory hunter esque like the other 4 clubs.

Was it Sky Sports since the 90s or the owners of the big European clubs which are trying to ruin football?

Big up the Palace!!!!

Its going to be a midweek competition if going ahead, anyone with whatever service broadcasts it should cancel or opt out if possible, greed i"m afraid rears it"s head again, just "business" i"m afraid.Hope the premier league/fa clamp down hard on it.

One of the blockers for this not happening in the past was the fans. After all who could afford Barcelona week 1, Milan week 2 etc.

Unfortunately COVID has demonstrated to the PL that you don't actually need fully packed stadium,s every week to survive.

So one possible scenario would be the big 6 joining the super league and keeping the TV rights for their matches to themselves. Fans could then watch every away game on telly and possibly even all the home ones.

I suspect that some of those involved have already been crunching the numbers to see which is the best option, less or no away fans versus total control over TV revenue and not having to share that revenue with the rest of the football family.

Let's hope it doesn't happen.

we know the fans of the top clubs think they are elite, but at the end of the day they enjoy being elite in a big pond not this puddle that the owners think the fans want,

Liverpool fans wont be happy, arsenal not so sure, manu not to sure prawn sandwich's come to mind, man city fans will be unhappy, Chelski not sure, spurs well they are are desperate to be elite somewhere, so were does Everton fit in here, spam have had a good season, leicester are newish champs, cant see it working

Points deduction could come their way.
Mr neville isn't happy and tbh I value his opinion.

It is a total and utter disgrace.
The clubs should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
My emotions are aligned with the seething Gary Neville.
Vesuvian eruptions in the Willo abode.

Of course because they have lost the revenue from home matches and I was really referring to the elite 6 for example Man United and the loss of fans for away games.

They can pack Old Trafford for their home games and don't care if the away supporters can't afford to come from Rome or Madrid. They won't miss them.

They have a global appeal so their fans around the world are happy to watch on TV. They wouldn't have to share any revenue with the other PL clubs or the FA so more money for them.

What COVID has demonstrated is that people will still watch games on TV even with no crowds or atmosphere. The big 6 wont be bothered if they lose a few thousand traditional fans who like playing Palace and Fulham because they can pick up more TV fans.

I can see the rule about not showing live football at 3pm Saturday going for good.

All of the above of course is completely selfish and does nothing for the sport but I suspect this will happen.

Suspect this has been on the cards since the expansion of the “Champions” League. The money men don’t care about anything except the bottom line and rich clubs playing each other stands to earn them more tv money. From our perspective the tv money available won’t be the same if Sky, etc have to pay out for these games as well.

What makes me laugh is there’s nothing super about Arsenal or Tottenham so why would they be invited? Also why would other clubs agree to a league which is completely dominated by English clubs?

As Steve Parish has mentioned apropos the views expressed by Gary Neville : "Drop the mic and take a bow".
