There is one person lurking in the background who would take the job. Step forward Mr D.Freedman. Would be ideal for Parish.

What experience does he have of managing a Premier League club? In view of the fact that he would probably get us relegated straight away why would his appointment be ideal for Parish

Neither Dyche, Cooper or Ishmael are likely to keep us up. Considering the Squad we have, injuries, and issues surrounding Zaha. It’s going to take a miracle. There is not a team in the EPL or among the promoted teams that is in worse shape. The reason I think Roy threw in the towel

Would people rather go Dyche where we probably get more of the same for 5 more years (and £750 million in revenue), or Cooper...fancy football but a completely different relegation risk?

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Because he comes at zero cost and is one of Parish mates.

There are a load on here that reckon we have a load of money stashed away just waiting to be spent. (The £millions for the new stand in a seperate account.) We have no money and have let the squad run down to a level where rebuilding is now a huge job.

This is simply poor leadership and management by the Chairman. I can't see many managers willing to take on this thankless task which is why I could see it being kept in house.

Don't think we are as poor in regards transfer funds as it appears we are not going to publize we have big transfer budget.Offloading the big earners will also help. And because of covid I also think there will be some bargains to be had .

There is a poster on here - someone who claims to be close to Freedman - who has been strong in his observations that Freedman has no desire to return to a coaching role. That said, it would not over surprise me if he was appointed if all other avenues fail.
Time will tell that's for sure.
I also think Palace/Freedman have been savvy in their transfer dealings over recent years. The only significant spend has been Eze with many others either loans or free transfers. Hence, it is conceivable that there is money to spend as evidenced by the failed bid for the Watford winger - c£25m rumoured - in last summers window.

We are also forgetting that it’s not just the managers position that has to be filled what about Hodgson coaching staff, we know sadly that Ray Lewington is not staying what about the other coaches do they need to be replaced. The new manager is going to have to bring in his own people and that has also got to be right for the club.

Its pretty normal in modern times for manager and coaching staff to move together. The managers do not want to waste time training the coaches in their systems, so bringing your own is largely sensible. Whether that extends beyond the first team is a different matter however.

I would be all for the fitness and conditioning staff being changed, ours just ruin most of our players.

The accounts say the opposite as losses have been made which have to be financed somehow.

Whether or not a £25m bid was genuinely made for Sarr is guesswork as is the payment terms that we may have suggested as that often seems to be the sticking point with our bids

I'm not convinced that Dyche would take the job, Cooper would be out if Swansea get promoted, Lampard seems to have dropped out (probably because he isn't going to given decent money) and Howe looks like he will finally put pen to paper at Celtic. Who does that leave ? Ismael ? My god, imagine if he is managerial spell at Palace is as bad as his playing period at Palace.

Not going to happen.

Dougie has no interest in managing again.

Why do we have to look for a '' cheap '' option ? Surely it's sensible investing in somebody that offers the most potential to sustain your multi million pound company.

If Roy was paid £4.5m pa, I would say that's good business by Parish given that Hodgson delivered Premier League safety for 4 years without the club having to spend many times more than that in the transfer market.

The job is simply beyond Freedman's limited ability.
Such a Freedman appointment ensures Championship football as night follows day.

That could be me you are referring to as I have posted along those lines before.

What I will and did add, was that I have made no claim to be '' close '' to DF. I once asked him if he would accept the managers job if offered and he was quite adamant that he's got no desire to return to management.

But - people do change their minds ! - I don't think he will though.
