I am thinking it is Howe or Lampard v home team of Freedman or Derry.
I am not overjoyed with any, but the home team do not have any proper experience of PL management and I would be amazed if Parrish risks millions of pounds on them, unless it is through sheer desperation.
If I had to pick any it would be Lampard.

What worries me about the set up at Palace, and the choice they make now, is the way that virtually every position is held by an ex Palace man. And not without some real success. So why would Parish,or anybody else advocate breaking that up.?
The worry being what head coach, manager, is going to be totally happy in this day and age having no say in who he works with.?

Ferguson, did a really good job , in his short spell looking after Everton. Having said that ,Everton, are his club, with his knowledge of the players there second to none.
People like him with experience of the Premier league , working along side higher profiles, should be being considered. Arteta, was one. It could be someone slightly under the radar, but if the experience is there ,even without the recognition ,it could be the way over this.

Ferguson was in charge for 3 PL games, they won 1 (3-1 home to Chelsea) and drew the other 2.
Everton were 18th when he took over and he got them up to 15th place.
They went out of the League Cup to Leicester, losing on penalties after drawing 2-2 at home.

With the press all over us in for Chelsea’s Gallagher it might indicate it is going to be Cooper .

Short but reasonably sweet. Watching them at that time it was noticeable how he had got their chins back off the floor, and had them as keen as he obviously was..
It wouldn’t have to be Ferguson, but most clubs have an extremely astute No 2 , and some go on to be decent managers, it could be a pool to dip a toe in.

Palace only pulled out of the Nuno deal on Wednesday so to expect them to have someone else signed on the dotted line less than a week later seems highly optimistic. Parish pays higher salaries than most PL clubs of a similar size so outside of the big managerial names I imagine we are attractive enough. The question is whether the net has been cast wider than the half-dozen candidates in the press.

The problem will be that having made Nuno first choice anybody else will be only too aware that they are second best. They may not now feel that this is job they wish to consider any longer.

I’m starting to feel very comfortable with the thought of Lampard taking over. He will be able to attract good signings because of his history as a top player and connections to Chelsea. The way I look at it is, if Chelsea thought he was good enough for them then he is certainly good enough for us. Forget the others, they are either under contract which costs too much or have no premiership experience. The only other candidate mentioned numerous times is Howe but he spent fortunes at Bournemouth and didn’t pull up any trees!

I wouldn't put it that way. Unless we were happy with every aspect of a candidate and offered them the job only for them to turn us down, we haven't established a first choice.

If what we hear about Nuno is correct we were very keen initially, then far less so once all both parties had got down to fine details, then not at all once all the cards were on the table.

If we now offer the job to someone once we've got down to fine details with them, that person will be our first choice as far as I can tell.

Lampard is currently doing punditry with BBC for the Euros.

In fact he's covering England v Croatia as I type this.

Lineker asked him if he's had any offers to come back to management and to paraphrase Lamp's response: "not any good ones otherwise I wouldn't be here [doing euro 2020]"

Make of that what you will...

If that is the case then I really do think that is disrespectful as we all know not so long ago 4 Premiership clubs had managerial vacancies I find that amazing that he hasn’t spoken to any of them.

Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good. Have we actually interviewed anyone?

It was a joke. A little quip.
