Comical the straw clutching going on. To be fair, I don’t think we look like a bunch of muppets because someone changed their mind, having verbally accepted the position. That’s just unfortunate. It could be argued that the bloke is actually a bit of a dickhead and shouldn’t have verbally agreed if he hadn’t researched it all thoroughly and had doubts. I do, however, agree that he has turned us down and we need to get over it and move on.

To be fair, I don’t think we look like a bunch of muppets because someone changed their mind, having verbally accepted the position. That’s just unfortunate. It could be argued that the bloke is actually a bit of a dickhead and shouldn’t have verbally agreed if he hadn’t researched it all thoroughly and had doubts.

I do, however, agree that he has turned us down and we need to get over it and move on.

If it is to be Viera then it feels more like a desperation appointment than one based on sound judgement. Is he the right man to rebuild as well as manage? Time will tell of course but I am more than worried!

Managers have agents to sort out terms, Terms agreed with an agent can hit the deck when put to the actual manager . IMHO, this is what actually happened with Favre, The agent finds out what’s on offer financially, which might be acceptable, but the manager then looks at the deal in its entirety , It’s then not just a matter of money, or even transfer kitties. But personal preferences on all sorts of issues. Reopening talks with Favre, is plausible, if they can cover his real concerns. I doubt Viera, is in an any different position right now. He might be, might not.
