Warnock, is ,and has been for years a first class EFL, manager his record speaks for its self.
But if you needed an example of why it’s absolutely right to not jump at managers able to have some success in the Champlonship, then Warnock, has to be it.
He is living proof that the knowledge needed for Premier league survival ,goes well beyond being able to get teams into the Premier league.

Pretty much what warnock said about himself

This is a fair point but it’s also the reason we should be appointing a manager on individual merit as opposed to sentiments such as PL experience or nationality. Just because Warnock was a good manager but not so good PL manager doesn’t equate to the same with Cooper or Ismaël. And when you take Ismaël, he certainly ticks a lot of boxes for what we require.

We're the Arthur over ere!

So far I’ve read;
- Lampard has been spotted at the training ground
-Howe is buying a house in the area
- Cooper’s agent was at the home game against Arsenal
- Negotiations have been ongoing with Nuno for 3 days
- Freedman’s choice would be Ismael.
Take your pick.

Will be funny if it ends up being Dyche - who hasn’t been spotted at the training ground, at nearby estate agents or in negotiations with the club!

If you look back I was not advocating we get Warnock. I was responding to a tongue in cheek comment from someone else if anyone has mentioned Warnock yet. Just pointing out he is doing a good job and well loved here and is also doing a job similar to what Cooper is doing at Swansea, someone many people are in favour of us getting. Agreed, just because someone can do that sort of job in the EFL does not necessarily mean they can repeat it in the Prem.

I have little confidence ,in the club taking anything other than an enormous risk whoever they bring in. As far as credibility for working successfully in the Premier league is concerned, there is always far more failure than success to choose from.
At least the Championship offers a number of clean sheets, But I would back Lampards so called failure over any of the other candidates, outside of Nuno. He isn’t the finished article, and the Chelsea, job came to soon, but he has shown if it’s an attacking style you want he could deliver. The problem being if these pages are anything to go by, the shout was . We can’t watch anymore of this. But now it’s back to who can just keep us in the league. Only Dyche, appeals if that’s the case, and I don’t see him as a certainty, mainly because there is nothing certain about Palace, other than uncertainty.

Stating Benteke has been given a new contract, if correct then would this mean our new manager is here already waiting to be announced?

In my opinion it’s a toss up now between Cooper, Lampard, Dyche and Howe, in that order. Can’t see Nuno coming here now with interest from Everton and I don’t think Ismael is what we’re looking for but what do I know.

Its all gone very quiet on the manager front , still no white smoke . though i do find it a bit strange that Ben has been given a 2 year extension . What if the new manager doesnt want him and wants to bring in his own striker. Its all Smoke And Mirrors .
