Another thing I'm not sure Palace fans have accepted up until this point is that if Nuno is our guy, it makes Eze's position at the club less than ideal. He certainly wouldn't fit the system Nuno played for the majority of his time at Wolves. And whilst I accept he has played different formations at other clubs, they were mainly at clubs that were expected to challenge for a title. We're the Arthur over ere!

Except I didn’t.

I said it is perfectly feasible that there is a period of time during which being seen to discuss, or signing, a deal may be financially unattractive.

Lol No he definitely is not. He thinks Crystal Palace is where the Queen lives.
He is a commercial diver. We work offshore together in Libya. He lives in Nadur

Just my tuppence worth but I do believe that the new manager has already been decided and deal agreed well before Roy told us he was leaving.

Yep. It’s Lampard, on a 3 year deal and it’s definitely been announced this week. Oh he’s gone on holiday (to where - the Falklands?) .........
Sorry, it’s Nuno after 3 days of talks (even though Mr Parish says he’s never met him) but it’s definitely been announced this week. Oh ......

I thought that it would have been done but I’m not sure. It could, of course, mean that where players contracts expire 30/06 - so do managers and actually we may be waiting for 01/07. I can't believe that Parish would sign Lampard and then agree that he doesn't start until 1st July due to contractual restrictions. That would seriously impact on player recruitment at a time when we need to get cracking. Parish has said recently that no approach has been made for Dyche. So that leaves Nuno, Howe, Cooper and Valerian. Nuno is being sought by Everton and will probably go there. So if Parish wants some prem experience he hasto go for Howe who is at least available. However, if he has discounted Howe, or Howe doesn't want it, then he needs to decide between the two Championship guys and start negotiating their release from their existing contracts. What I don't understand, is what is holding everything up and why wasn't this more or less sorted before Roy left?

I can't believe that Parish would sign Lampard and then agree that he doesn't start until 1st July due to contractual restrictions. Watched When Eagles Dare last night. Bit of a love in between Steve and Dougie so maybe he will be given a second chance to rebuild a team. Wouldn’t be surprised.
