Reported by Ed Aaron’s now It’s my understanding that Lucien Favre has decided not to take up Crystal Palace’s offer of a three-year contract. The Swiss manager had been due to sign a three-year contract today #cpfc

Actually got a lot of sympathy for Parish and the board... it seems it's been very close with both NES and now Favre where everything has progressed well and then at the 11th hour there's been some sort of U-turn. It must be insanely frustrating... which we will all feel a small percentage of. It is of course what you can only describe as 'classic palace' even though I'd say neither situation was really our fault! On to the next target...is anyone left??... Dougie LOL

Would not be surprised if this was the case. Mismanagement of our club at the highest level has resulted in there being no money. No decent manager would want to take on what is likely to be an impossible project. In a weeks time £millions of player value walks out of the door for nothing leaving the club massively under resourced and exposed to a level where any decent manager would not touch us. Sadly this current failure to appoint a manager makes me worry that we will drop down the leagues and quickly into a third administration as Parish lacks the funds to support us and the Americans don't want to.

As in with these two situations with NES and Favre the club have held positive talks where it seems everything is in agreement only for the candidates to make a last minute u-turn. This is beyond a joke. How can you negotiate for 3 days and not be clear on what funds are available? If he has had a better offer then fair enough, if not then this is turning into a farce
