When he left chelsea, they were 9th. They spent 200+m in the summer and couldn’t get a tune out of the players. Tuchel has made them in title contenders next season, something they were not under Frank.

For me, the size of our club and our aspirations. Has to be Sean Dyche. Slightly bigger budget than Burnley and can keep us in the league.

In reality I suspect that a replacement has already been lined up but the club don't want to annouce it yet, partly so Roy gets a decent send off and also perhaps because of potential contractual issues around the announcing of the replacement relating to his previous or current club.
It seems there was never an intention to offer Roy another extension so the club must have been sounding out possible replacements for a while.
I suspect it will be Lampard but it's just a hunch.

you have to take the betting odds with a pinch of salt, read between the lines etc, but Lampard has gone out from 1/3 to 5/4 - which means not a single penny is going on him, Steve Cooper has just come in from 8-1 to 2-1, again no money for him, but the odds have been lowered in anticipation, so it seems he is on the short list at least. I don't think there'll be an announcement till the season is over, and that means after the play offs. You can see Parish is trying to establishing a model based on developing and selling on youth, rather than fire fighting, so someone with those credentials, i.e. improving young players, will be favoured.

I think Lampard is a better candidate than some are giving him credit for. He is young and recently finished a long and hugely successful playing career, so he will be in touch with today's players and will have seen many modern methods from a player perspective as well as a coaching one. He seems very serious about being a good manager, and has already had two very different experiences to learn from.

He did well at Derby. Used the loan system well, developed young players and got results. If he was coming to us straight from Derby we'd probably be happy enough.

I don't think he did badly at Chelsea at all. He revitalised the place after Sarri had bored them all to death, and introduced a lot of youth players. OK, he had no choice due to the transfer ban, but he had enough senior players there to not need to risk so much youth, and most of the young players did well under him and developed. He struggled a bit this year but Chelsea were hardly miles away from the top four, and he was trying to integrate far too many new players at once, many of whom were playing in England for the first time. Plus Chelsea sack everyone after five minutes anyway, it's hardly a black mark against the man's name.

I’m intrigued by Lampard although feel a sense of apprehension at the same time. It could strengthen the case to sign Gallagher and Gilmore on loan- talk about creativity!

A previous poster talked about Frank being relatable to the players and respected for his playing days which is good point. He’ll bring a buzz to the club and a sense of excitement.

I understand Jodie Morris comes as part of his coaching team and I’ve heard many times that he’s widely regarded as a top class coach.

Ultimately, we can’t afford big signings and need to see fruit from our Academy so whoever mentions this as being a priority in their interview will get the job.

I have to say I’d be happier with Frank than Eddie Howe or Dyche, undoubtedly. But it’s a risk and you have to question why we’d be so keen to take it, considering how big of a world we live in and how many managers we could attract as an established Premier League club.

Rafa Benitez is another one who’d be attractive. But I think people will be disappointed if they’re expecting a revolution from Roy Hodgson. Generally, they’re quite similar managers who cut their cloth accordingly.

This really comes down to how much money we actually have to invest this summer. If it’s similar to recent years, then you do have to question what someone like Frank will bring to the party. There’s often the mention of integrating the youth - but doing that to a large degree, in the Premier League, is easier said than done. Roy actually gave 3 academy players their PL debut during his time and I’m not sure there is another manager in the same period who brought through more.
