You can't have concrete long term plans for volatile things like the transfer market. True but we often don't seem to have short term plans either like the time when we released all of our strikers except one and didn't replace any of them with either loans or purchases preferring instead to keep our fingers tightly crossed and the less said about allowing half of your squad to be out of contract at the same time the better

I don't consider the current contract situation to be the consequence of negligence at all.

He had run out of money and the club was living on borrowed cash. He had borrowed from a secondary lender as the big financial institutions would not lend to a football club and if the lenders had not called in the debt someone else would have done.

I think Mr Jordan might have an agenda here. He had run out of money and the club was living on borrowed cash. He had borrowed from a secondary lender as the big financial institutions would not lend to a football club and if the lenders had not called in the debt someone else would have done.

I doubt it as the only other major creditor was Jordan himself as he had reached agreement with HMRC

No he had not. He had tried to but HMRC has a fairly tough policy with all football clubs and the prompt payment of tax across the board after a host of issues arising in the past (for example with Rangers)
