If Dougie hadn't left i think we would have won the title. Ollie so nearly blew it with his tinkering. Quite revealing that Damo said that the players told Ollie to revert to Dougies system.

I’ve always hated Dougie for jumping ship. But having watched the first couple of episodes of this with him admitting it wasn’t long after he’d left that he knew he’d made a mistake and listening to his and Parish’s account of events, I can now understand and all is forgiven. Interesting to see Parish and (to a lesser extent) Freedman throw Lawrence under the bus regarding the move to Bolton. Not much chance of Lennie getting the managers job here then. The really interesting thing though is one which we all kind of know to be true, or at least feel is true but perhaps think is partly in our imagination. It's that you really have to get Palace to have any chance of even surviving here, let alone doing well. It is what it is. Hard working, resilient, bit of flair thrown in, strong personalities clashing, no fools being suffered, and some other thing I can't articulate but recognise when I see it, something captured in Holloway and his mixed fortune here. Even a guy who had gone where the chairman and players hadn't, who had everyone's respect and love, was always a fish out of water here. That would be easy to understand if he was out of his depth, but he'd already done it at Blackpool so it wasn't that. He just wasn't a good fit. Whatever the Palace mould is, he didn't fit it,as much as all parties wanted him to. Gives an insight into the current managerial recruitment process perhaps. Just finished binge watching the documentary on Amazon. What fantastic memories from such a wonderful time in our clubs history. That group of players were great to watch and everything that this club has gone on to achieve should forever be grateful to that group. I’ll never forget both the semi final legs and then that great day at Wembley. My dad who brought me up supporting palace died in 2008 and never got a chance to see us go through the periods mentioned in the documentary or any of our success now and I always think that things like this bring it home as to how much football really means to supporters. Palace are my team and I have memories throughout my life both good and bad that linked back to the past and to people who are no longer with us anymore. I hope we go on to achieve and win things but until then what a great journey it has been so far. If you haven’t watched the documentary yet definitely give it a watch.

Likewise, Jealzie, I binged the whole lot last night. I couldn’t stop myself! The emotions came flooding back and I even contemplated fast forwarding the play off final episode as I found myself getting nervous again! A really good documentary, we’ll put together.

I watched the first episode last night. Most of the people talking about the club seemed to be comedians for some reason or other although Eddie Izzard wasn't included. I don't know whether I missed his name or not but who was the black dude who had quite a few snippets - and I don't mean Mark Bright

Hi - I am in New Zealand, and unfortunately Amazon Prime states that the documentary isn't available in my location. And Amazon won't let me use a VPN. Does anyone have any tips for getting around this? Thank you, Simon.

Binged it all yesterday. As others have said, thoroughly enjoyable/tear provoking reliving the playoff semis and final. For me, a bit of a realisation that I wish I could have bottled the feeling I had when I turned up each week expecting to win and be entertained with Bolasie on one side, Zaha on the other and Murray in the middle scoring for fun. It just felt different. It's also obvious that my enjoyment of Palace and the game in general is reflective of that time of my life and that COVID, VAR and mind boggling free kicks given for anything leaves me in a position where I don't feel as engaged or like my life depends on it as much as it once did. For me personally, although im not against the direction we've sat at for the last few years, this documentary has reminded me that it can be better and I'm hoping a new manager and a few shrewd signings ignites that flame again.
