JP had a soft spot for us when he was based in London. A Bristol City fan and i think he lived in Herne Hill, his wife i believe was a Palace season ticket holder. I think he lives in enemy territory now down Brighton way

Remeber Pearce when he did commentary for Euro 96 on the radio and he came up with are you ready are you Teddy are you ready for a glass of sherry or something like that.Certanley more exciting than boring old Alan Green

I agree with you totally about Pearce on the radio. If ever his commentary overlapped a TV broadcast I used to turn the TV sound off and listen to him.

He was obviously told to tone down when he moved to BBC TV. Shame.

Great game. Sh@te time in my own life. Watched in a pub knowing I was in court in a couple of days time looking a couple of years. Child on the way too.

Glad I’m older and wiser now.

Brilliant goal, one of the best we have probably ever scored m, even better considering the circumstances.

Well..? Don't leave us hanging, did you do the time or not?

Went up on the coach to that game, didn’t think we were ever going to score, just remember the Palace end exploding when it went in, great day out.

I remember listening to the scores on the radio and I’d just starting explaining to my (then) 9 year old daughter what relegation is, when Palace scored! The wait for confirmation that all the other results had gone our way seemed forever!

Twenty years ago I was there with my two sons, and after the euphoria when Dougie scored and we won the game we had to wait five minutes nervously waiting for the end of the Birmingham Huddersfield game to check we were safe.

Ten years ago we were playing Sheffield Wednesday trying to stay in the Championship after going bust and having a points deduction.

Today we have just reached 41 points with four games to go in the Premier League, in our longest spell ever in the top division.

Despite this people still moan, ridiculous.

Dragged my new female friend into the pub to watch this game. We had only met 3 months previously and we were living 70 miles apart, her in Portsmouth, me in Catford. Still together 20 years later.
