I don't get negativity around Zaha. He provided a beautiful cross to Benteke, which should have been an easy goal. Later, he went through the entire Sheffield defense, and laid the ball off to Ayew for what should have been another easy goal.

And people want Zaha gone? Who do we have besides Eze that is even half the player as Zaha? Townsend? Ayew? Benteke? Riedewald? Schlupp?

If Wilf had a terrible game today, bad attitude, etc, he still contributed more than anyone other than Eze.

He's our leading scorer by far, and he provides the most chances for other players to score. Yes, I wish his attitude was better at times, but he's one of the precious few players we have with real talent.

I hope he stays with us for his career.

I’m sorry were you watching the same game as me ? I thought he was terrible, can’t go past anyone these days, even against the bottom side can’t pass a ball with the correct pace on it and constantly moans when things go against him.Why is he untouchable? never gets subbed usually Eze gets pulled off today it was Townsend who put in a good shift.I watched his face when Eze scored didn’t celebrate or go to him to congratulate him. He knows the king is dead Long Live the King Eze.

Wilf has carried this club for years. He’s our top scorer and would undoubtedly have more if it weren’t for the injuries. Even during his quiet games he’s still involved and could’ve quite easily had an assist today.

There will be no "cashing in" on Wilf to any considerable degree. He will be 29 this year.

He is still by far and away our best player and turning on him is utterly ridiculous.

We all realise that

Yep, after that run deserved a bit of luck. Natural successor to Wilf. Hope we have a very large release clause or perhaps give him another improved contract. He is our future

Very much felt like the changing of the throne today. Eze shone and Zaha below par - I won't hold anything against him for all he's done for the club but if he doesn't get a move this summer (which I very much doubt) then he needs to straighten out his attitude.

Decent display today and deserved more against what must be said one of the poorest teams we've played in the league. Only downside for me was missing an opportunity to see what Mateta has to offer. 20 mins against city where we barely have the ball isn't really a fair crack of the whip.

But confirming our 9th year in the prem with 4 games to go is pretty decent... next stop "the summer rebuild!".

I really do feel bad for Zaha. With better players around, he would have likely contributed to 2-3 goals, given Sheffield's leaky defence.

He slid past a defender as if he wasn’t there and Put it on a plate for Ayew who should’ve scored. Can’t take anything away from Ezes goal as the run was sensational but he got fortunate with the finish and 100% should’ve put Wilf in. As for the last part, just infantile.

We're the Arthur over ere!

Totally agree, Zaha won’t get the move he wants ( certainly not in PL) however I do believe he has carried injuries into many matches. Will never knock him, hopefully Eze will take some of the pressure off him. First time todayI was crying out to give the ball to someone other than Wilf

Am I reading something that wasn't there but did anyone else notice that Luka seemed to have a better game than I've seen in a long time?

I felt him being the sole defensive midfielder with two more forward thinking midfielders in Eze and Schlupp alongside/just in front of him provided him with a more streamlined view of how to play. Win the ball or collect the ball from the defence and give a simple pass to now two more attacking options rather than having to take the responsibility of having to play a decisive forwards ball himself (not his strongest point)

Most I’ve enjoyed a game in a long time. We were terrific, although I appreciate we were against poor opposition. That could/should have been 0-5.

Sadly I’ve got to agree with some that Wilf isn’t the threat he used to be. He doesn’t seem able to take players on anymore, perhaps he’s lost a yard of pace. His petulance continues to frustrate and is possibly the reason no one ever came in for him. He’s still our best player and first name on the team sheet but no longer head and shoulders above the rest.

He did have a much better game today and fairplay to him for it. On the flipside we were also playing against the worst team in the league (by quite a stretch). But you can only play against what's in front of you. So well done Luka, I've certainly been critical of him this season.

Indeed, unfortunately not many PL sides are as poor as Sheffield Utd in midfield. Not taking anything away from Lula, thought he was nearly back to his best today. Schlupp off the pace I thought

one of the problems with Zaha is that he has been like a Champions League player in the past.

that is a very difficult act to maintain.

Eze Peasy at Anfield....

If he doesnt leave then i think a new manager like Lampard or Howe would re-energise Wilf. He's going through the motions at the moment
