But which "kids" would you give an opportunity to? If pressed I'd go for Rak-Sakyi as the best candidate at the moment.

If I was Palace's Bank Manager, given that my customer has just announced a £54m hit due to Covid, I would be expecting them to generate as much incoming funds as possible.

So start Mateta in each remaining game? When he joined us on loan there was an agreement to buy after 15 starts. I could be wrong but assume this means part of starting lineup not appearances including those as a sub. For this reason I think he will not start till next season but may come on as a sub. We need 3 strikers in the squad for next year Mateta plus 2 more. Bats is going back to Chelsea, We will buy 1 my guess is Benteke will stay if we can agree wages

Cahill will be nearly 36 at the start of next season.
But , going forward, i do not trust his long-term health & fitness for a whole season. We urgently need to find a 24 year old that can take his place.

If Benteke leaves we might be in for a striker but we also have Wilf. In that respect our defence and midfield seem more of a priority than up front. I'm struggling to think who will be on the right wing? Perhaps Townsend will renew but we need someone there. I'm presuming Banks will play next season as left winger in the odd game. Still no one on the right.

we urgently need to plan for next season. The first game in August will be brutal & unforgiving. Norwich & other teams coming up will be tough & unfamiliar. and if the other big clubs do not like our commitment to winning games this month ? f...ck them. Edited by PalazioVecchio (10 May 2021 3.14pm)

Edited by PalazioVecchio (10 May 2021 3.14pm) We played Norwich last season, same as Watford, so not unfamiliar. If B'mouth win play-offs, we played them as well last season.

Surely we need to try and win every remaining game for the sake of probity if nothing else.

Same as every previous game we've played. Can't believe they never try to win even if it doesn't look that way sometimes. The manager has made it quite clear he won't field players just for the sake of giving them a game.

The most important forthcoming game on our horizon will be in mid August. And they come thick and fast thereafter....not much time for tinkering with formations or the squad.
