the fact he has been 1st choice for the majority of our time in the PL, and played more games than anybody else, in which we have more or less finished mid-table every season suggests that maybe he is actually good enough to be a PL footballer.

solid, dependable, professional, committed, no frills full back.

Agree, cost £400k and 1 season away from a testimonial. Fantastic servant for the club, professional and lovely bloke off the pitch. He always has time for fans after the game. He is probably one of our best value signings of recent times if not ever!

still our best player over the season. 10 goals and plays a vital part.

i wouldnt sell him for £50m, he is under contract still for another 2 years.

if he was at his very best over 38 games he wouldnt be with us, he isnt perfect, but hes our non-perfect star player.

he is irreplaceable.

Agree. How many have we won when he was not playing? This is where the be careful what you wish for adage rings true to me.

This is the point I think we all recognise. If his mind is still telling him to leave for pastures new then his desire is no longer there.

I'm not convinced about the niggling injury theory. If there is something wrong why haven't the medics advised Roy to stop him playing?

Fact is we've seen Wilf at his best, but those times are gone. Players don't last forever and if there's any chance to sell him we should take it.

If he stays much longer he won't fetch more than a few bob.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Levy can rest our resolve with a 5 mil bid and a further 5 in add ons. 250k bonus if Spurs win the Champions League.

One thing seems clear, for one reason or another he doesn’t feel happy on the pitch at the moment. He’s never been one to hide his emotions on the pitch but his frustrations are very evident and theatrical. Frustration with his team mates a lot of the time as well. I’m Wilfs biggest fan I just don’t see Wilf as a happy bunny here. However this is set with a backdrop of a decent goal return this year. He certainly appears to have lost his pace at the moment, not appearing to have the ability or inclination to breeze past and players with a trick or drop of the shoulder. We rarely see that now. I wonder if he is still carrying an injury or has the realisation that the ship has sailed on his desired big move. He may still get that move in the summer but I can’t see where he will go. Unfortunately I’m not sure if we’ll get anywhere near the sums of money that’s been bandied about in previous seasons. Not sure he’s even our biggest asset (sale value wise) any longer.

He is probably fed up with trying to get that useless lump Benteke to start hitting the onion bag regulaly! Please don't say he is know because His goal ratio is crap!

I don't want to give anyone the assumption that I'm ITK, as I'm not, but I've heard that Wilf is resigned to the fact that his best years are behind him, and that at his age now he has no hope of playing in a top European side. He will therefore see out his career at Palace and will be signing a new 4 year contract shortly.

I won't be naming the source and it might all be bowlocks, but they are usually spot-on when it comes to all things Palace.

If, Kane and Son leave Spurs I can easily see them putting in a bid for him. I don’t know what is agreed between him and Parrish, but he doesn’t want to play for us anymore. I imagine £25m would be accepted. Problem for Wilf is that Spurs don’t pay big wages.

Don't forget that we have to pay Manchester United 25% of our sale price

Noted. But he isn’t going to sign another contract is he? He mood is getting very dark. I’m starting to dislike him a bit, and I have loved the guy.

What complete garbage you have just spoken! Benteke offers so much more than just goals,

Honestly , I’m embarrased by some of our fan base!

Agree with most of the comments so far.
Time to cash in on Wilf.
He's been our talisman and saviour for a long time but whatever injury he's carrying or if it's just down to attitude he isn't the same player.
If he stays another season and declines further we'll be lucky to get 25m for him.
Currently, I don't think he's good enough to get in any of the top 6 sides
