I suppose the dilemma with any manager who does a really good job with very limited resources, but does it by playing anti-football, is whether or not they would play better football if they had more resources. When doing brilliantly at Bolton, Allardyce used to tell anyone who would listen that he'd adapt his style to the players he had, and that in fact he'd be a great success at Real Madrid. Seriously, you can look it up, he did. Personally I can't think of a manager who has played wildly different styles of football at different clubs. Managers that play good football certainly tend to do so from the outset, and whilst Dyche might surprise us, there's no evidence that he can get a side playing positive attacking football. I'd expect a Dyche led Palace side to look similar to a Hodgson/Allardyce/Pulis one. He'll want to keep benteke and Townsend for sure, might be happier than most to sell Zaha if he can reinvest the money, but might struggle to accommodate Eze when he's back and fit. Butland
