Glenn Murray retires from Football. What great memories we have of him when he played for us. Good luck in everything you do in the future.

Yes, good luck Glenn.

He was a pundit on one of the games shown over here and was very good. May be seeing more of him in that role.

Fantastic signing a proper number 9 and that chested pass to Dwight in the Crystanbul game was exquisite. Absolutely loved him in red and blue

What are the odds on him being our next Manager, Dazza?

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Yeah, what about it Dazza? I have a friend who knows someone's nephew who is related to a guy in an influential position who may have seen his name written down on something that looked like a contract.
Although he admits it could have been an invoice.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Quality center forward. Very clever, strong and knew where the goal was. Wickham coming in as a replacement for Murray was a joke. Bombed out a few years to early.
One of my favourite forwards over the past 30 years, great story from non league to the premier league as well.

Actually, he is only 37. Not too old to play for Palace! (joking)!

When Dougie asked him to come back, he announced his retirement.

Palace sold Glenn Murray four years too early. WE badly needed his goal prowess and missed him badly.

In hindsight this seems correct. However, at the time I thought we did well enough to get what we did. It seemed a fair transfer. He'd just had a bad injury too, if I remember correctly (which I often don't).
I, like you and many others, missed him too - when we just couldn't score and barely had a striker. But I thougt the original transfer was the right thing to do, at the time.
I wish him the best of luck.
I absolutely loved it that we nicked him from the weed for a free. Didn't he score against them too? What a laugh! Great days.

Class act and will be missed in football full stop let alone at CPFC. I remember after the play off final when they played Let it be and there was a tingle at the back of my neck.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
