I am somewhat underwhelmed at the thought of him coming. I recognize that we need to have a blend of experience and youth but we already have the experience up front in Benteke and Ayew (and even Zaha if he stays and we have a crisis). We don't need another forward pushing 30. Consequently, it's a 'no thanks' from me.

Decent player no question but dodgy age bracket. Past his prime and must be entering the injury years. Has a handy goal record but that was largely on the back of the Wilson Fraser wonder years at Bournemouth and he's really much the same profile as Ayew as a wide player who pops up with goals. I thought the intention was to lower our age profile, not increase it! A definite 'No' from me. I'd much rather we invested in Morgan Rogers, already mentioned in another thread.

If we need more cover in the areas King, would be used then I would prefer a younger option. At 30 years plus King could only be seen as short term, as a younger option could be developed long term. But it wouldn’t seem a priority, if the balance of the squad ,is to be addressed . As things stand the defence is crying out for addition to left and right fullback positions, centre defence needs one or even two. And mid field could do with another two competitive performers as it seems we lose Mc,Carthy, and Townsend, long term and Eze, for the first half of the season. If we resign any of those that are thought to be gone the numbers alter, but that’s looking less likely at this time.
