Sakho was purchased whilst FDB was in charge.
Some of the other signings highlighted were either 'Free' or minimal spend in PL terms.
A minimal 'Net spend' whilst Mr Hodgson was at the club.

Don't think it's fair to say Holloway was a disaster. He did make quite a few good transfers for us (Chamakh, Kevin Philips, Cameron Jerome, Puncheon, Dobbie, Jazz Richards, etc.) Although that being said, he was like a kid in a candy shop once we got in the prem which caused him to lose the dressing room. The biggest failure transfer-wise in recent years for me has to go to Pardew. With the exception of Souare (who the club was already interested in signing) and Wilf (who was already on loan at the club). The rest of Pardew's signings we overspent on / weren't good enough IMO.

The biggest failure transfer-wise in recent years for me has to go to Pardew. With the exception of Souare (who the club was already interested in signing) and Wilf (who was already on loan at the club). The rest of Pardew's signings we overspent on / weren't good enough IMO.

As you rightly state, Hodgson wasn't appointed until 12th Sep 17, so Hodgson's spend is about half of what you've stated. I haven't checked the others - it was just that I was sure Sakho's loan was made permanent before Hodgson's arrival. Secondly, not sure what you are wanting. The quoting of total spends fails to take account of player price inflation. Pardew, relatively speaking spent a fortune compared to the rest of the list.

Firstly, Sakho was bought under FdB's tenure (1st Sep 17). As you rightly state, Hodgson wasn't appointed until 12th Sep 17, so Hodgson's spend is about half of what you've stated. I haven't checked the others - it was just that I was sure Sakho's loan was made permanent before Hodgson's arrival.

Secondly, not sure what you are wanting. The quoting of total spends fails to take account of player price inflation. Pardew, relatively speaking spent a fortune compared to the rest of the list.

All the information was from HOL and Wikipedia, Sakho missed all of FDBs matches, we signed him before FBD was here, he was signed initially in the close season, and it was actually agreed while still injured with ligament damage, so sorry i did get Roy's purchase wrong. but the others are there for all to see

Parish brought a ridiculous amount of players in the August window, because we had not planned our targets properly in pre-season, so Holloway ended up with a unbalanced squad, some players he did not want, so a lot of the team spirit was lost.

That was not his fault. Parish brought a ridiculous amount of players in the August window, because we had not planned our targets properly in pre-season, so Holloway ended up with a unbalanced squad, some players he did not want, so a lot of the team spirit was lost.
