Just turned on having read this thread.

Presenter called Tom Harwood. Looks an absolute amateur, stuttering away. Not good enough.

Interesting screenshot doing the rounds on social media with a reporter live from Llandovery in Wales.

Give away is the phone number on the shop opposite which is a Birmingham number.

Maybe all is not what it seems

There’s a whole host of these type of screenshots/clips going around - I don’t know how they’ve got it so wrong from a technical standpoint; it’s certainly not a lack of funding.

Maybe these big businesses should have the b ***s to make their own decisions rather than bowing to the twitterazi. Perhaps actually watching the programme before making a decision May have been advisable

How do you know they haven’t made their own decisions?

Haha is that genuine? Even a quick google search shows it's in Saltley, an area of Birmingham.

Maybe I was too quick to trust Andrew Neil's editorial principles.

Maybe I should have said “ have the b**ls not to listen to twitterazi”. Some of these companies appear to have pulled the adverts before they had even watched the programme

Problem is that the advertising industry is essentially Woke w***er central, with those at the top of these corporations pretty far removed from the marketing decisions.

Of course the proof is in the pudding but I would be willing to hazard a bet that given all this free publicity for GBN that if their viewing figures hold up, enough people will still want to advertise with them.

Now so far I have not seen a single product that I personally use as part of this supposed 'boycott' but if I do, then I will use my own commercial freedom to not buy their products.

This can work both-ways.

Personally, if I was launching a product that I wanted to associate with being a bit edgy, then GBN would be one of the places I would want to be advertising. All very punk now.

Makes me laugh when Nivea take the moral high ground, doesn’t stop them experimenting on animals.

Personally, it is IKEA that makes me smile. A company that was literally started by a Nazi.

Now we live in a world in which a cricketer has his career effectively scuppered because of daft tweets he sent when he was 18 and yet somehow the same people who cheered that one will now proclaim IKEA as being honourable.

Indeed. A missed opportunity is how I’d sum it up

If someone professional had actually planned this properly, obtained more funding and therefore more talent… it might have had a chance

Still might, if they can get their act together. Otherwise it’s absolute amateur hour run by industry castaways

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Isn’t this a bit silly? Plenty of brands that you could say the same thing about. Starting with VW.

Difference is of course that it’s 2021 and they’re not in fact run by Nazis. But y’know, whatever

You are right it is 2021, perhaps people can stop trying to make us all feel guilty about those involved in the slave trade 200 years ago. Is there a difference?
